The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
I will go with Lanfan. She was strong enough to hurt Namu, who could jump so high that he was pratically flying.

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Yamcha (21st Tenkaichi Budoukai) vs. Giran
I think that Yamcha's strong enough to corner Giran with his Rouga Fuu-Fuu Ken, but he'd probably lose against Giran's Guru-Guru Gum.
Kuririn (Red Ribbon Army arc) vs. Sergeant Metallic
I think that Metallic's marginally stronger than Kuririn, but if he gave the stronger Gokuu trouble (who had to resort to a Kamehameha to defeat him), I believe that Kuririn would either wear himself out and/or be stomped.
Chaozu (22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai) vs. Akkuman
I'd say Chaozu's marginally stronger than Akkuman, so they'd have a roughly even fight for a while, until Akkuman destroyed him with his Akumaito Beam. Remember that Chaozu only pulled out his paralysis on the stronger Kuririn after he'd damaged him off-guard with his Kamehameha and was pushing him.
Yamcha (23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai) vs. Drum
I think Yamcha's only slightly stronger than Tenshinhan was back in the Piccolo Daimaou arc, so the only chance he'd have to win is if he pulled off a Soukidan.
Yajirobe (Piccolo Daimaou arc) vs. Chi-Chi (23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai) (equal powers)
Yajirobe has his overwhelming weight (like a sumo?), (possibly) battle-realistic street fighting skills, and swordfighting on his side, while Chi-Chi has the Kame-sen Ryuu on hers. I'd wager that Chi-Chi would win, but barely.
Piccolo, Son Gohan & Kuririn (Movie #2) vs. Brutal Warriors (Misokattsun, Kishime & Ebifurya)
The super-warriors don't have a chance unless Gohan gets angry and blows the three of them away before they unleash their special powers.
Angira, Medamaccha & Dorodabo vs. Recoom, Butta & Jheese
If Angira goes up against Jheese, Medamaccha against Butta, and Dorodabo against Recoom...I'd say Jheese loses against Angira's arm-stretching ability, Butta's superior speed enables him to evade Medamaccha's mini-men or whatever and edge him the win, and Recoom defeats Dorodabo based on slightly higher strength. Then Recoom and Butta gang up on Angira and destroy him.
Sauzer, Dore & Neiz vs. Freeza (first-form)
I think Sauzer's about as strong as Vegeta was when he grappled with Freeza, and Dore and Neiz are close behind him. So Freeza would lose due to being outnumbered. Sauzer could lock him in a roughly even battle, and then Neiz could paralyze him in his lightning attack and the three of them could just whale on him.

Videl, easily. Ran-Fan's sex appeal wouldn't work on her, and her greatest feat was momentarily hurting Namu with an off-guard gut-punch. Videl, on the other hand, can fly and broke Spopovich's neck with a kick.dbgtFO wrote:Lanfan vs. Videl(25th Tournament).
Lanfan made it all the way to the first round of the 21st Tournament, but how much that was due to her sex appeal is unknown. One thing you can probably count on is Videl not being affected by it should Lanfan try to use it.
So who wins?

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Yamcha and Tenshinhan. I don't think they would be anywhere near the squad.mysticboy wrote:The squad or Yamcha and Tein?
As for the other match ups:
Yamcha (21st Tenkaichi Budoukai) vs. Giran
I don't think Yamcha did any sort of training like Goku and Kurilin, and would probably lose this.
Kuririn (Red Ribbon Army arc) vs. Sergeant Metallic
I would say that Kurilin is going to be stomped.
Chaozu (22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai) vs. Akkuman
I would actually think Akkuman is stronger than Chaozu, though I could be wrong. But Chaozu could paralyse him either way and win, unless he's careless with the Akkumite beam which is quite likely.
Yamcha (23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai) vs. Drum
I think Yamcha is actually a bit weaker than 22nd Tenshinhan so he loses here.
Yajirobe (Piccolo Daimaou arc) vs. Chi-Chi (23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai) (equal powers)
Yajirobe chops her up.
Piccolo, Son Gohan & Kuririn (Movie #2) vs. Brutal Warriors (Misokattsun, Kishime & Ebifurya)
If the brutal warriors can give Goku trouble with their abilities, the trio don't have much chance against them.
Angira, Medamaccha & Dorodabo vs. Recoom, Butta & Jheese
I would say that Slug's henchmen would be much stronger than the Ginyu force trio if Slug is supposedly stronger than Freeza, so they take this easily.
Sauzer, Dore & Neiz vs. Freeza (first-form)
I think they can defeat Freeza's first form without too much difficulty if they put up a decent fight against M5 Piccolo.

Re: The All-Purpose "Versus" Thread
Ranfan Vs Videl
Eh, hard to tell. Ranfan didn't seem to have much going for her besides her wily seductive trickery, which was the only thing letting her lay a finger on Nam. Videl seems much stronger, able to take on a bruiser like Spopovich in a straight-up fight, and she's got flight and some basic ki usage to work with too. So I'll give it to Videl.
Yamcha (21st WT) vs. Giran
Hard to tell if Yamcha's quite at the "beyond human" level yet where he can take on big monsters like this the way Goku could. Since it's Yamcha, I wager he'd find some way to lose...
Kuririn (RRA arc) vs. Sgt. Metallic
Same here; I don't think Kuririn can yet quite contend with gigantic killer robots the way Goku could.
Chaozu (22nd WT) vs. Devilman
Chaozu might be able to win this if he can get crafty enough with the ki attacks and telekinesis. Remember; at this early point in the series, battles weren't necessarily all about ki yet. Physical strength and durability were the primary factors. So Goku being able to kick the head off a giant robot doesn't necessarily mean Kuririn can too, even if they're at similar power levels.
Yamcha (23rd WT) vs. Drum
Going by the official numbers, by the arrival of Raditz, Yamcha had only just about caught up to the power Goku and Ten had at the 22nd Tournament (177 to their 180). So he'd get beaten pretty soundly by Drum, who was even stronger than that.
Yajirobe (King Piccolo arc) Vs. Chi-Chi (23rd WT)
As an equal-powers match, I don't really know how to answer. It's a toss-up; Chi-Chi's trained martial arts skills and trademark "ferocity" VS Yajirobe's sword skills.
Piccolo, Gohan, & Kuririn (ZM2) Vs. Misokattsun, Kishime & Ebifurya
I really don't know how to answer this one, since the power of these hench-monsters is hard to judge. I'd have to rewatch the film to be sure, but I remember Muten Roshi putting up a good fight against them, but then Goku having trouble with them due to the cold inhibiting them. But without any extraordinary conditions, I'd imagine these three guys could take them out, even if Piccolo would end up doing most of the work.
Angira, Medamaccha & Dorodabo vs. Recoome, Butta, & Jheese
A battle of the counterparts! I consider all 6 of these guys in the same neighborhood of raw power, what with how closely Movie 4 mimics the Ginyu Force arc in key ways. But I think Slug's crew here might be able to edge out a win with their special abilities. But they might not get ample opportunity to use them if the Ginyu trio simply blitz them. Another one that's hard to say.
Sauzer, Dore, & Neiz Vs 1st-Form Freeza
I like to use the official power levels for Coola's Armored Squad almost solely to annoy those who would get uppity about said numbers. But if Freeza gets serious, then his power of 530,000 is more than enough to take down 3 powers of almost 200,000 each, even if all three gang up on him.
Tenshinhan & Yamcha Vs. Coola's Armored Squad
If their "potential" is anything like Kuririn's, then they might only cap out at just under 100,000 like he did from the Grand Elder's ritual. Or maybe a little over 100,000 to be generous. If they're smart and skilled enough, then working together they might be able to take out ONE of the Armored Squad members. But any more than one at a time spells doom for them.

Chiaotzu came despite knowing that there were people stronger than Raditz coming. I think all of the Z-Senshi should be stronger than a saibamen and the saibamen rival Raditz, so i think Chiaotzu wins.dprez wrote:Raditz vs. Chiaotzu ( post- saiyan training )

Being less than half as strong as Raditz, I don't think his paralysis would be enough for him to pull a victory over Raditz. However, his self destruction could score a mutual K.O.dprez wrote:Raditz vs. Chiaotzu ( post- saiyan training )

After the Grand Elder's power-up AND training, yes. Without the power-up they'd be lucky if they've broken 50,000 instead. They're only humans, and don't gain power anywhere near as quickly as the Saiyans or Piccolo.mysticboy wrote:You think they'll be at 100K even after the three years of training?
