Goten's hair

At 7 years old, Goten had the exact same hairstyle as Goku. However, half-Saiyans' hair continues to grow, unlike full-blooded Saiyans. Do you think Chichi cut his hair to resemble Goku's? Maybe his natural style is the same as Goku's and it will resemble it when cut?

From the looks of it, it's his natural hairstyle. I'm pretty sure the end of the manga tells us he purposely grew it out so he wouldn't resemble Goku so much. GT seems to be the opposite; his hair then looks like it was cut shorter than Goku's and just gelled up a bit or something.

No. If you "lay down" those long spikes he had earlier, that's how his hair turns out. He might have had a haircut in some places, though.

I suppose it's possible, but it doesn't look that way to me. I find it easier to believe that he just got haircuts as a kid, personally.

Yeah, if Goten's half-Saiyan hair is even just a little more susceptible to gravity than Goku's, then simply letting it grow out some could result in his epilogue-era hair style.

It looks around the exact same length as Goku's spikes to me... If it simply "grew" for Goten, there wouldn't have been any need for AT to specify that Goten changed his hair in order to not look like Goku. Basically he's always looked like Goku, that's why he had to do something about it manually. I know you guys want Goten's hair to grow so it wouldn't contradict Gohan's hair, but it just doesn't look that way. At all. Goten was born with a tail and Goten was not, after all.

In fact, the panel with Goten provided above has his hair look longer than in any other panel.

He simply cut it when he got a little older. He looked so much like Goku that they had to cut his hair to avoid confusion.

I don't really care about it "contradicting Gohan's hair" or anything like that. It just doesn't look like Goku's hair flattened out to me--not enough for me to think that's what Toriyama had in mind, at least.

Gohan and Trunks's hair grew. It makes no sense whatsoever that the other half-saiyan, Goten, doesn't have growing hair. I think it naturally takes Goku's style, but after a certain length, it will begin to look different. So when it's cut, it naturally takes on Goku's style, like when he was a kid. That's what I think, anyways.

Not true. Goten's first hairstyle isn't, Gohan has the bowl cut before Yamcha does, Yamcha doesn't have Gohan's Cell Game/SS2/Ultimate hairstyle, etc...

Well, you could say that Yamucha had a bowl-type cut during the 22nd Tenkaichi Budoukai and Piccolo arcs.

And that, except for the bang(s), Yamcha had teenage Gohan/Ultimate Gohan's haircut in the Cell arc.

I don't think a lack of a tail would mean Goten's hair would remain exactly like Goku's as, from what I could tell, Trunks wasn't born with a tail and his hair is certainly capable of change.

I'm not sure how literally we should take Toriyama's explanation for Goten's hair, particularly when he's "mini Goku" in one episode and then the next is the ten year time skip to the Budokai and Goten has shaggier hair. So, the question is was Goten's hair changed because Goten didn't want to look just like Goku or did Toriyama change his hair because he didn't want Goten looking just like Goku?

Of course, it may all be perfectly clear in the original message, but as I don't know exactly what toriyama said on the matter, I'm taking my best guess.

Well, to my it seemed like he was born with the "base hair" of Goku and Chichi would cut his hair to keep it like that, but once the kid grew, he wanted his own style and let it grew.
