As for the composer, I couldn't find "Composer" on the credits list on the Credits of Dragon Ball Raging Blast Video, though there's a "Sound Designer: Hiroshi Isokawa".
It is Toshiyuki Kishi. The manual credits him as the composer.

Maybe it's just me but I'm hearing some similarity between this (DBZ Budokai HD Opening) and Ultimate Tenkaichi's International OST tracks.

I suppose Mr. Takaki is composing the new soundtrack for the Budokai HD Collection, but why would they think about including BT3 & UT then?

Wait... So, instead of improving the game with
say, some characters that already exists in IW or DB Heroes machines,
they pack it up worst soundtracks ???

This deserves singing alright!

Take this game as a "Value Set" game because really Namco Bandai isn't going to be spending too much money on it.

Its HD graphics can look great but this is more of a game for the "hardcore" Dragon Ball Z fans to enjoy than the casual audience, plus, their reusing music from BT3 and UT, so not much of uniqueness in this collection.

Not to forget, this so-called "Collection" doesn't even feature the second Budokai title, so it should've been named "Dragon Ball Z Budokai 1 & 3 HD - Double Pack".

Here's an example:

What difference does it make? It's just a title and it's not inaccurate for not including all of them.

By ''Collection'' one would think it would include all three Budokai games and it doesn't.

Not really... if it were to say "Complete Collection" or something like that but two games is still a collection so there's nothing false or misleading about it.

It's inaccurate and a misleading title they used.

It's not needed to be "Complete Collection" by "Collection" itself is inaccurate enough as it is.

"Double Pack" would have suited it better than a bs "Collection".

No, it's not.

"Collection" doesn't mean "3 games" or "all the games". I was saying that if it was "Complete Collection" or something similar, then it would be misleading, but it's not.

"Double Pack" would have been hardly any different from "Collection". The distinction isn't necessary, the cover makes it obvious enough what you're getting.

If you're going to start quantifying things in weird arbitrary ways the Budokai HD Collection can't be a Double Pack because all Double Packs have just been two game discs thrown into one case. No actual extra work is done for any of them. Plenty of HD Collections have only contained two games, such as the Silent Hill HD Collection, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (in Japan Peace Walker is a separate release), the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection, the upcoming Zone of the Enders HD Collection, and both God of War HD Collections, the first of which is what started the whole trend of reselling you all the games you already have on your shelf but in HD.

Nobody who isn't going to buy the Budokai HD Collection because of Budokai 2's absence would have changed their mind just because the box said "Double Pack" instead of "Collection", and anyone who's actually misled into thinking all three games are on it is an idiot, seeing as the box makes it clear that only Budokai 1 and 3 are included. This distinction doesn't matter to anyone except you.

@Hitiro; This is what you do in Budokai. Learn a characters combo and try to perform it. The game merely consist of managing your energy bar and performing the combos you just memorised. There's no zoning. There's no alternative routes to attack instead of head on. The game, although may have depth, is straight up linear and boring as a result. Hell the combos just add to making Budokai vids boring to watch, they're crap, PK this, PK that.

If Tenkaichi is a simulator, Tenkaichi is a poor simulator. Don't let the flashy lights fool you.

There's no zoning? Then what, pray tell, do characters like Broly and Goku do at mid-to-long range? I seem to recall that they both have supers which can be used for zoning at mid-to-long range in order to out prioritise the enemies moves(Much like how characters like Sagat, Adon, Cammy and Blanka have good zoning tools). Broly's Gigantic Press and Goku's Dragon Fist have great zoning capablities. Other than them there's Vegeta with his Final Impact, Gohan's Soaring Dragon Strike, Super Buu's III Ball Attack, Gt. Saiyaman's Justice Kick, Goten's Charge! move and Uub's Fierce Furry which are just a few. Obviously some characters aren't really zoning characters, much like every game, but there is definitely zoning in Budokai 3. =\

There are also alternative routes to attack, instead of head on, you can attack with supers to chip your opponent's life away. You can force them into making mistakes by throwing ki blasts at them and perhaps do some damage if they aren't expecting the ki blast. You can teleport behind them after they've deflected your ki blast back at you or, if they've thrown a ki blast or super at you, and start beating on them with Anti-TC moves if you have less ki than they do.

I'm sorry if you don't like the way the game plays but I like it. There is nothing wrong with the combo system the way it is, there are moves that can be cancelled, there are moves that can be linked through the stun damage, there are juggles and they also have force state moves which put the opponent back on the ground in order to continue combo'ing on the ground. I guess I can respect the game more because I see all the elements I've stated in this post, or maybe you just don't like the games in general which is your own opinion at the end of the day. I enjoy watching people play Budokai 3 and seeing a fight between two good players of the game and how the one-up one another.

Also Tenkaichi is fine for what it is, it may not be the best but its the only simulator out there for DBZ games and it is enough for me to play them, so again, if you don't enjoy the games then that is your own opinion at the end of the day.

I acknowledge Zenkai Battle Royale but its only available in the arcades in Japan, not for distribution world wide. If it comes out to the world then it will be the best but we may not even see a port of it.

Can I ask, what actually happened regarding the licence when Spike took over. i.e. B3 then BT1. Why the change, I remember I was really annoyed at the free roam system

Because Spike wanted to make the battles closer to the actual show, hence the free roam system.

Both companies were given a license to make DBZ games but apparently DIMPS had their license terminated over a breach of the license agreement with FUNimation, or so I heard. So it wasn't that Spike happened to take over but rather DIMPS lost their rights to use the DBZ license. As for why spike went with a different method of games it is probably because they wanted to appeal to a much broader audience than just the fighting community. So developing games like BT, RB and UT to make them play like how the show would look seemed to be the best method I guess. Don't forget that a much similar game came out before BT called "Earth's Special Forces", which was a half-life: source mod, and it might have been what got Spike to pursue this type of game. Then again they might never have seen this game and just decided to make a game like it, though, I find that hard to believe. :D
