Wait wait wait...
Kakarot can sense energy? I guess he must have picked it up through the same contrivance U18 Vegeta did then.

Don't know why I laughed when Kakarotto killed that deer. I guess I kind of saw it coming.
Me too!

Yeah, I think showing him being all 'I'm alone again...' only to do the whiplash of him killing the deer and...being batshit insane...on the next page, is made weaker by the fact that we already know he's not the same Goku we know and love via the main DBM story.Scarz wrote:Don't know why I laughed when Kakarotto killed that deer. Beyond that though? I love it.

I always imagine by the time that Radditz came to earth that everything on Earth would be dead.

If that isn't the most forced laughter in excistence, then I don't know what is.coola wrote:

So first it's "E-Enough Tenshinhan stopped!" Which is a terrible translation. Now they're still doing this "Ah! Ah! Ah!" stuff for laughing? What is up with this translation team?

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Come to think of it, though this is more nitpicky than a lot of the other translation issues...shouldn't it be 'Those two!' not 'These two!' when Kakarot senses Yamucha and Tenshinhan?

It's been obvious for a long time that the English translator(s?) isn't a native speaker, and might not even be fluent.ShadowDude112 wrote:What is up with this translation team?
Even Dragon Ball fan projects have problems with their English versions. It's the life we must live.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I know the translation has been pretty bad, but you'd think we could've gotten a better one by now. Guess that just makes too much sense for Salagir.TripleRach wrote:It's been obvious for a long time that the English translator(s?) isn't a native speaker, and might not even be fluent.ShadowDude112 wrote:What is up with this translation team?

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Unless I'm mis-remembering, plenty of people, some from here even, have gone and volunteered to help clean up the sloppy English, but they've refused on the grounds of not wanting to lose certain subtleties in the dialogue.

I guess you just can't change the mind of stubborn people like that. I don't know what "subtleties" they're talking about when their official English translator has shit like "Depart" and "Tenshinhan, stopped!"

I guess Salagir doesn't realize that the English is just straight up wrong half the time. It isn't an issue of taste or nuance. It's just plain wrong. Why that isn't getting through his head, I have no idea.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I have an idea. Why don't we take a new page that's posted on their site and change the dialogues if needed and post here? When the fan-manga is over however the years it takes, we can start gather them together into a file for download or something.
I really dislike how they translate. It ranges from scratch-the head to downright incomprehensible. If anyone here in the forums that fluently speaks French and can translate for us, that'd be great.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm late coming in and saying this, but killing the deer seemed like such a kick the dog moment to me. It's a bit heavy-handed for my taste.
The creators might not like people doing that without their permission. I can't imagine they'd mind if someone just wanted to post translations here in the thread, but I can't be sure.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:I have an idea. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
If they want to discourage it then they should stop providing Zero Wing hack jobs. It's just mindboggling because they don't even have to get an actual English translator, just an English editor.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Could they really say anything about someone making a zip file of fixed-translation pictures though? It's a fan work for a property they don't own...I could see how it could be seen as a 'dick' move maybe, but I don't think they could really say much about it.
That said, I like the zip file idea. I've already been saving the comic page by page as it comes out anyway, but I'd definitely download a fixed copy.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I don't see how it's really any different than the other doujinshi/fan comic scanlations that are done without consent from the original authors. As previously said, it might seem a bit dickish since we'd be translating from the already provided "English" version into, well, English, but I don't see why that would stop someone from doing it anyway. lol
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
To be honest, all I was saying was that they might not like it. Whether people care or think they should be able to say anything about it is another matter.
