How powerful did Yamcha, Ten, Chaozu, and Krillin get?
Re: How powerful did Yamcha, Ten, Chaozu, and Krillin get?
Ok, just to make one thing clear... The last time we managed to have a comparative of someone's power with Krillin (who already got his power unlocked) was against his fight with Vegeta/Gohan vs Recoom. Recoom's Power Level was around 65-70K. And the three of them were clearly out matched. In the "Evolution of Goku's Power Levels" it even says his level is 13,000 by then. Of course they were getting slaughtered by him.
Here's the pic, check the upper right corner.
By the Cell Arc I imagine Krillin managed to get just to the 50K mark.
Yamcha simply getting stuck below that very definitely. Krillin has always been stronger than Yamcha.
I do believe that Tenshinhan was stronger than Krillin because he simply had a much stricter training. Reaching... who knows? 90-100k by the Buu saga?

@soulnova
Danzenshuu stated that at a point he fought Frieza his power level was 75.000. It can be handwaved somehow, by saying that his dormant power was being unlocked gradually instead in instant.

Recoome couldn't have been 65-70 K. When Captain Ginyu estimated Goku's power level to be at around 60,000, Jeice exclaimed that Recoome never stood a chance.

It's games that give him power level in 60s-70s

Well In Famicom game Dragon Ball Z II: Gekishin Freeza, Recoome's battle power is 71,000 and in the RPG game Dragon Ball Z: Legend of the Super Saiyan, Recoome's power level is 65,000; both would contradict Jeice's statement. However, his power level is 52,000 in Dragon Ball Z: Goku Gekitōden and 40,000 in Dragon Ball Z: Sagas. I'm leaning more to 40,000 based on the damage vegeta was able to inflict on him.CaptainKatsura wrote:It's games that give him power level in 60s-70s

Yeah, games do their own things. In the manga, for Recoome to be so badly and clearly outmatched by Goku (whom Ginyu initially guessed at 60,000), yet to beat around Vegeta (who was around 30,000), the optimal range for Recoome, Butta, and Jheese would be anywhere around 40-50 thousand.

Personally, I would like to think that they all (except Chaozu) got to at least 2nd form Freeza. Maybe stronger, maybe weaker. We never seen the humans at full potential anyway. And by that I mean past the Saiyan and Freeza saga.

I think Chaozu probably hit his wall around Super Perfect Cell's level. That's why we never see him in the Manga after Freeza and his father show up. Tenshinhan is a jealous bastard like that.

It would only be natural for people to re-evaluate their opinions if new evidence was introduced.shonenhikada wrote:What would you say if Toriyama released a book placing them in double digit millions ?

What makes you think they would get that high so quickly?shonenhikada wrote:My power level for tenshihan, Yamcha and Krillin during the android arc
Yamcha-65,000,000
Tenshinhan - 75,000,000
Krillin - 60,000,000
I'd most likely call bullshit on it as he abandoned power levels after the Freeza saga so any powers levels that were released for later sagas probably wouldn't have been what he had in mind when writing the manga.shonenhikada wrote:What would you say if Toriyama released a book placing them in double digit millions ?

As far we know Toriyama stopped working with the concept of battle powers after the Freeza saga, and there is no reason to think otherwise. So the battle power for Tenshinhan probably don't even exist.shonenhikada wrote:What would you say if Toriyama released a book placing them in double digit millions ?

All I know is Krillin is way more important to Goku than the others which to me means he's more powerful.
Re: How powerful did Yamcha, Ten, Chaozu, and Krillin get?
By the Android arc I consider Ten-Krillin-Yamcha all around the kk10/20 Goku(Freeza arc) range making them strong enough to be of some use as support and able to provide a considerable amount of energy for c20.
In the Boo arc I have only Ten and Krillin stronger than Freeza. Yamcha and Chaozu are completely irrelevant the latter being more-so.

Re: How powerful did Yamcha, Ten, Chaozu, and Krillin get?
But why would you think they are that strong? No.20 said they would add enough energy for him to beat Vegeta, but apparently he also tought an insignificant energy would be enough to defeat Piccolo who is much weaker than Vegeta... that's already such a huge miscalculation.
Re: How powerful did Yamcha, Ten, Chaozu, and Krillin get?
Who knows. By the latter part of the series, everyone pretty much stopped fighting except for Ten and Chao and to me that signifies that we're not supposed to give a stuff about how strong they are. I reckon Ten when fighting Boo-Gotenks absorbed was as strong as the base Saiya-jins during the eary part of the Android arc.

Re: How powerful did Yamcha, Ten, Chaozu, and Krillin get?
I could see the Tien, Yamcha, & Krillin being that strong based on the conversation in the airship. Vegeta agreed not to become a Super Saiyan and stated that by not doing so, everyone was about equal. Krillin even got excited because he thought he actually stood a chance in a tournament involving Gohan, Vegeta, & Goku all because they would stay in their base forms.Fox666 wrote:But why would you think they are that strong?

I think that isn't in the manga. Also as I know, all Vegeta said was that his superiority wouldn't change.
Re: How powerful did Yamcha, Ten, Chaozu, and Krillin get?
I feel like Vegeta wasn't even considering the humans when he said that. It was more like: "If the four of us don't become Super Saiyans, then I'll still be the strongest." Even if Kuririn was excited (I can't tell from Viz's translation--heck, I can't even tell if it's him speaking!) I'd have to wonder if he was being naive, considering that a) Vegeta was always far ahead of him to begin with, and b) Vegeta trained way harder than him on top of that. I mean, Toriyama could make anyone as strong as he wanted, of course, but I find it quite a bit easier to believe that Kuririn was in denial.Travis Touchdown wrote:I could see the Tenshinhan, Yamcha, & Krillin being that strong based on the conversation in the airship. Also following that logic, Piccolo would only be as strong as the base Saiyans and humans.
