The definition? As someone who has received many YouTube comments being accused of such, I find it to be such a perfect definition. It's basically just to say that it's an insult that's not really an insult at all. That all it takes is someone saying they prefer a Japanese show in Japanese to be labeled with this meaningless moniker with all the vitriol and immaturity the internet has to offer.Saiga wrote:That has actually never made sense to me.Insertclevername wrote:I personally find this to be a good definition.Tanooki Kuribo: Maybe I'm old, out of the loop, or just not hip anymore. But what's "weeaboos" ?!
Herms: It's a term used by a certain breed of internet half-wit against those with the audacity to point out that the Japanese show said half-wit likes happens to be Japanese.

I must be reading it the wrong way or something, because it seemed to me that in the definition it was the person who liked the Japanese show calling other people weeaboos, which didn't make sense to me.Gaffer Tape wrote:

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Actually, now that I look at it, you're right. Or, rather, I now understand why you're confused. It looks as though Herms used the term "half-wit" to describe both the giver and recipient of the insult, but it's actually just being used to refer to the giver.

"This shit is so plotless and mindless! Watch a real show, with a plot!"
This is what will be truly unnerving for me.

I don't exactly know if this would fit in here, but it annoys me when I hear someone talking about how the anime sucks, and then someone accuses them of not being a Dragon Ball fan, or if it's on here, asking, "then why are you on a Dragon Ball forum?" Just because they don't like the anime doesn't mean they don't like Dragon Ball (the manga). I don't see it that much, but it does annoy me when I do.

That's a good one, Pokewhiz7. Some people will ask why you're even on a Dragon Ball forum if you so much as criticise a bit of Toriyama's writing, as though they think to be a fan of something you have to be blind to its faults.
If TPP passes in your country it will be illegal for you to watch an imported DVD. Click here to learn more!

To be honest, a sign of a true fan is one who could critique it to death yet still love it just as much.Bussani wrote:That's a good one, Pokewhiz7.
