Is Nicktoons losing interest in Dragon Ball?

Post by SRB2Unleashed » Tue Aug 28, 2012 6:10 pm

Long story short Kai's barely on the schedule (if it didn't get removed already) and the remaining episodes of GT (already on the last saga) are being aired on a Friday night at 10 PM. That's bad.

So yeah do you guys think Nicktoons is losing interest in Dragon Ball? I don't picture them picking up the original DB or Buu saga Z or anymore movies now.
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

I think it's because Kai is over and none of the kids really care about GT, and I don't blame 'em.

That's Nicktoons fault, if they would've aired the original Dragon Ball series instead of GT they probably would still have the ratings they wanted, as much as I like GT (with the original Japanese score) Nicktoons airing GT so soon was a bad idea.
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

It's series kids probably already seen and NickToons should be aiming for anime series that US citizens most likely never heard of, or seen them. Unless imported, or through other methods.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

Nicktoons should have aired the sayaiman and buu sagas before they aired GT. It made a lot of people who never saw series wondered where charectors like, Buu,Goten,Pan ect...... Came from making it confusing to fans new to the series thus, making them lose intrest.(+ GT isn't that interesting to begin with).

More kids are going to be watching Nicktoons than the current Toonami.

By what I've seen of advertisement uploaded to YouTube it's pretty much just action, gore and more violence, hum... Not much variety. Americans must be too advanced to enjoy Doraemon, Kiteretsu, Ninja Hattori, D'Artagnan, Marco and etc.

Actually Toonami (and Adult Swim aired a bump they picked up some more anime last night) is still looking into anime, most are being kept secret.

GT already came out in the US back in 2003 and ended in early 2005. It's a show that most fans already saw almost a decade ago and I think most newer fans likely saw it already thanks to Youtube.

Maybe then Cartoon Network can get it and they'll air it on Toonami uncut, which would be awesome. Hopefully GT never airs again though.

Personally I can't watch GT with Menza's music for too long because it gets annoying, but with the original soundtrack, it feels nostalgic and quite awesome. Don't care how much people hate GT, GT was the last DB series I grew up watching.

First: DB
Second: DBZ
Third: DBGT

In US, I think people first seen DBZ and then DB or GT.

They'll go for both uncut as is DB / Z / GT / ZKai likely on Toonami's Adult Swim line. They'll put the series in chronological order by story to story.

Regarding the music, it'll still stay inconsistent or are they changing that? US replacement here (Z/GT), and original there (DB)?

If they play the original DB anime and DB Movies 1-3 then they are pretty much are done unless Funi picks up the rights to the 2008 Jump Special and the recent Bardock OVA. Nothing can last forever but I do admit it was cool to have DBZ on TV for the first time since 2005 though.

Funny how people want Nicktoons to play the Buu saga so badly. I guess people forget that kids now these days know how to use the Internet? Even my five year old cousin is smart enough to use a Iphone and can use it to post on Facebook. People must be living a under a rock or something that the Internet has been in pretty much every house hold since 2005. It's not like the 90's or the early 00's when the Internet was still new and most people didn't have it.

The Hub isn't going to give that up. That's their big show. Though interestingly enough, one of the main cast members of that show was on the first dub of DB when she was a little girl.
