Vegeta's bachelor pad

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Vegeta's bachelor pad

Post by Chuquita » Wed Aug 29, 2012 9:09 pm

I was flipping through the booklet that comes with Funi's Dragon Box 7 yesterday, and came across a set of "couples" pages that describes the relationships between the four main "romances" of the series (Goku/ChiChi, Bulma/Vegeta, Kuririn/18, and Gohan/Videl) and they give a title to each couple.

The title the booklet gives Bulma/Vegeta is "The Reverse Gold-Digger".
After momentarily being stunned, then laughing at the idea of Vegeta going out of his way to romance wealthy women as a means to attain an easy life of luxury for himself, I wondered:

If Vegeta never moved in with Bulma at Capsule Corp, but remained on Earth, where would he live? Would he be a nomad like Tenshinhan? Would he be a thief and live in a stolen capsule house while stealing food for himself? Would he live in a cave in the woods and hunt for his meals? Would he be kind of like a second Piccolo and live at the Son home for a while--at least while training to defeat the jinzoningen? (I think there's humor potential in Vegeta, Goku, and Piccolo as roommates. In fact, I would've liked to see more of Piccolo's temporary home-life as part of the Son family, but that's for another topic.)

Where do you think Vegeta would live?

Damn, that's hard to say considering we never see him live on his own on Earth before, but if I to guess, Vegeta would most likely find some decent to luxurious capsule home in some town (perhaps Ginger Town?), and scare the residents away or force them to feed him/keep the house clean. I honestly can't imagine Vegeta being that self efficient considering his heritage.

So he'd be like a warlord with himself as a one-man army? I could picture that.
Eventually Goku would catch wind of this and try to go free the town from Vegeta's hold.

I could see him strong arming some people but all he seems to care about is getting stronger so he probably wouldn't even need much. But either way he could also easily get some money without being evil or working much. Professional fighter, one man demo crew, ultra fast delivery guy, special effects maker for movies,

Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

If he remained on Earth, I think he'd either be a nomad like Tenshinhan and Piccolo before he merged with Kami, since all he really seems to care about is surpassing Gokuu by becoming a Super Saiyan and he trains 24/7.

But it's more likely that he'd force Dr. Brief to build him a spaceship like Gokuu's - or just use Gokuu's spaceship - with a gravity changer so he could live and train in outer space, perhaps destroying aliens as part of his regime.
