Yeah, Daizex has some weird thing against name changes. I don't think wanting to change your name is in any way related to not wanting to stand behind your presence and contributions, it's just a simple change in style like switching to a new avatar. Thankfully I don't have any desire to change my name though, since Dr. Casey has always been my main nickname.

I think Kanzenshuu's stance on name changes is because of the whole "if we change one person's name, then loads more people will start asking for them". They've only made exceptions on the basis of certain users making names for themselves on other forums and just the wider internet in general, like Kaboom (formerly SSj Kaboom) or JulieYBM (formerly JulieYBM).

I've requested a name change because I have a different but consistent username on multiple other forums, so it's kind of only logical that it should be the same here.

I was going to say the same thing as Daimao, but I believe PhpBB can be set so that users can change their names at will, and that may be what Dr. Casey is talking about. Of course, I could see that getting extremely chaotic. I already have trouble keeping track of people when they change their avatars!
