Bulma Budokai 3
Bulma Budokai 3
I was reading the rumors section the other day and I read the insert about bulma in budokai 3. It seems as though there was a video, I guess of gameplay with her. Could somebody tell me where I could find one?
Yeah, it's possbile to get Bulma (and a lot more!) in Budokai 3.
Don't know about a video, but here's how you go about doing it.
Firstly, you're gonna need to get your hands on the Japanese version (its just called DragonBall Z 3 out there). You'll need an Action Replay card too (I've got Action Replay V2, and the codes work fine. I'd recommend that model).
From there, its simply a matter of entering the codes, and starting the game with them activated.
Master Code
EC878530 1456E79B
EC878530 1456E79B
^ This needs to be activated all the time. If it isn't, then the following codes don't work.
Bulma
1CD7B8E0 14960125
1CD7B8E4 14960145
^ This code replaces Videl with Bulma. You can't switch between the costumes for some reason.
Frieza in his Hoverchair
1CD7A808 1456E7E6
^ This one replaces Frieza's regular colour scheme with him in his hoverchair.
Kamikaze Ghost
1CD7CD40 1496F715
1CD7CD40 1496F715
^ This code replaces Gotenks with a Kamikaze Ghost (yeah, you can actually fight as one!) You can get a Super Saiyan 3 Ghost by transforming, and a Super Buu Ghost by transforming into what would normally be Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks for some reason.
There's more (Kibito, Babidi and Goku with a scouter to name a few), but I haven't found the codes for them yet. Do a little digging though, and you might come across something.

I've heard about that, Ace. There's actually pics of those skins here, from the DBZ Ps2 game forum. That's insane considering we all thought only Bulma and hovercraft Frieza were the only unfinished skins. I thought getting Piccolo Daimao in the greatest hits version is something, but knowing you can fight as a super ghost and as Babidi, I'm flabbergasted! It's insane, but I'm more than content with my greatest hits release, I have all I need, and I doubt any Ps3 DBZ game can surpass it.

It's really something else to actually play as those skins though. I've tried the codes on my AR2, and ended up kicking Cell's ass with Bulma.I've heard about that, Ace. I'm still trying to track down codes for Babidi and Kibito though. Google does nothing for me, it just brings up cheat sites. If anyone finds anything, let me know and I'll get straight to checking it out.

Please re-read the forum rules. If you continue to type like this, you won't be around for long!andrew wrote:Do codes work with greatest hits if not when i buy the dragonball z3 well saves from greatest hit or normal american verson
AceSharp, thanks for the codes! I had pulled together a few, but none of the necessary ones for some of the additional character skins. I'm just gonna have to pick myself up an Action Replay this weekend!
And then I can make even more screen-shots... >.>

It would seem that EX wants absolutely everything that the Japanese version has hidden away, kinda like how I had been with Budokai 3 here in the US. Well, now that I've gotten the correct GH version, 3 extra skins (and "Super Vegeta" in DA to optionally fight against), I got everything I can possibly get. In any case, I look forward to hearing a possible podcast episode on the subject of the hidden elements in the DBZ Ps2 games, especially regarding the stuff on Budokai 3 that even someone with the "Greatest Hits" version can't nab. Maybe after Chou DBZ is released, or even sooner?

The more I hear about the locked away, unfinished elements, that exist in the JP release the, more I want a JP PS2 and game. In my opinnion it'd be well worth it to be able to play as those skins.

Curious, do you guys think these codes would work on the Greatest Hits version of Budokai 3? I know a few of us here at the boards have gotten the correct release, and while it lacks the vocal opening and extra Baba movies, I'm curious if these action replay codes will work. The release does have everything else the Japanese version does.

Doubtful. I've not heard of them working in the Collector's Edition and the Greatest Hits version is merely a port of that. The thing with the JP version is that stuff was added after the fact. With the likes of the Collector's Edition and Greatest Hits version they merely added what was finished instead of taking everything they head, sticking it on the disc, and pushing it out (as the JP release did).Conan the SSJ wrote:Curious, do you guys think these codes would work on the Greatest Hits version of Budokai 3? All right... grabbed a random Action Replay (Datel's Action Replay Max, it seems), and this obviously ain't cutting it. First off, you need to have the disc in the system you're using the game on in order to start it up with codes, and it only boots on a US PS2. Well, I legally own a JP PS2 and legally own a JP DBZ3. This leads me to wonder exactly how people are using their start-up discs in order to play the game. Sure, you could always have a modded US PS2 that will load anything... but yeah...
.
The codes didn't fit into this code window/box/whatever thingies, anyway, so this obviously wouldn't work even if I could boot the start-up disc on the JP PS2.
Explanations?

If you check these out, http://us.codejunkies.com/codes_show.as ... 32042&p=13
and
http://us.codejunkies.com/codes_show.as ... 049538&p=1
These are two different sets of codes for the game Dark Cloud 2. The first link is the one for Action Replay MAX, and the second is for the regular Action Replay, and since I believe AceSharp mentioned that he was using V2 of Action Replay, it would explain why his code doesn't work and fit with the MAX.

I understand the differences between the different Action Replay code sets... what I'm perplexed about is how people are using a US Action Replay to load a JP game
.

Ahh... It's probably because I've got my PS2 modded. I legally own DBZ3, but I'm running it off a modded European console, which is probably why I can combine both my Action Replay boot-disc and Dragonball Z 3.All right... grabbed a random Action Replay (Datel's Action Replay Max, it seems), and this obviously ain't cutting it. The codes should fit properly as well, but if you're using an Action Replay Max, that could be the problem there. My version is simply an Action Replay V2. If I can manage to grab a screenshot later tonight, I'll post up what my code entry screen looks like, so that you can compare the two.
