I actually really loved this one, the jokes and the writing were really on the ball this time, which is saying a lot considering your past works. I fucking love how you gave Niezu no lines, just screeching, for some reason, that works so well!

Loved the use of the Kikuchi piece as Coola died, although I wish the piece used when Gokuu became a Super Saiyan was also used. :(

For those who say that his isn't our best material, I don't necessarily disagree with you. It's not our best, but it's far from our worst. I could blame that it didn't give us a lot to work with, but that would be untrue and a cop-out. I will say I am happy with our finished product and that there are a couple of jokes of mine in there I'm very proud of (Bird Toriyama and "Whiskers the Wonder Cat" being a few). The movies are always lighter, more free-form for us and we tend to play a little faster and looser with characters and jokes. That's why Goku's kind of... an asshole in this one.

Ultimately, I can only hope that you treat it with a certain amount of levity, but I also understand how it's not our finest work.

I loved it. Comedy aside, I love the voice you guys chose for Coola.

As much as I like Linda Young as Freeza I still found the reference to Dub Freeza before Coola transforms hilarious.

I think it was still very well done.

anyways around the 15:23 mark, what is that song. It was in the Bardock Special and I can't find it. I hear it was unreleased or something, but where did you get the song from.

That was fun. :3 It felt short for some reason, but maybe that's just because the last TFS I saw was the finale.
"Deja Mustard" was so random that it made me smile. X3
Also the dramatic pan to Cooler and Goku going "Freezer!" right after.
And Goku's completely innocuous dream about Chi-Chi making breakfast was adorable. (The "beautiful lady that lives in (his) house" indeed. So cute.) Also, any time Goku gets to sing is wonderful.
Actually, I thought Goku's older "Silly Gohan" line from an earlier episode was jerkier than his jerky moments here.
Nail making Star Wars comments during Piccolo's fight was also good. X3
Piccolo in general was fantastic here.
Oh! And the giving people cases of explosions was hilarious. X3
On hiatus.

Really good episode, but I do have one criticism that this episode really hightlighted. I think it's great that the writer (apologies for forgetting which one of you does the writing) is trying to make the show that little more entertaining to hardcore fans by adding in references to obscure dubs and literal translations, but I just think that they don't really flow with everything else that's being said and seem quite random and incidental. For example, I thought when Piccolo made his usual DB-movie entree to save Gohan from the villain's henchmen and then commented on how predictable and cliched they looked was hilarious, but Krillin remembering a dream where he called Korin "Whiskers the Wonder Cat" or something just seemed a bit WTF to me. If I feel this way about them, I imagine it would seem really strange to someone who isn't such a hardcore fan.

While I'm sure theres other examples of jokes that would only be funny to hardcore fans the Whiskers the Wonder Cat I think will be fine. its true that a lot of people won't get the refrence but theres still a bit of a joke there anyways, since Whiskers the Wonder cat is a funny name and Korin is a cat. Its not like the Harmony Gold dubbed called Korin - Steve, and they had Krillin say "I kept calling him Steve". Same thing would work if they started calling Piccolo - Big Green (didn't they do that in the slug movie or something), but if they called Goku - Zero or Bulma - Lena with no extra joke built in then yeah it would only work for those that know the refrence.

I always thought it would be kind of funny if Broly Abridged had Paragus talk like he does in the Big Green dub. Make it so most people don't even understand what he is saying and then when Broly kills him have him say it was because his way of talking annoyed him.

Wow, great movie! :D My favorite part was the conversation with Toriyama, and the "Cha LA" reference that followed.

Was the voice of Cooler supposed to mimic the voice of Bane from the new batman movie? It kinda seemed similar.

Hey there. Big fan of your work since the beginning, plan to be a fan all the way through to the end. Don't be too hard on yourself, it was just fine and it was funny. I've watched it twice and it was great both times.

Maybe next time spend a bit more time editing and checking over the joke quality? This one seemed a little rushed, maybe that's why the general feedback isn't as overwhelmingly positive. There was just...something about the Lord Slug lines that worked really well. I.e. the absurdity of the King Bacon part, or Slug himself with his bizarre mannerisms, or Piccolo's WHAT?s.
I play baseball and work in LA.

Oh man, that breakfast part fucking killed me.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!

While I can agree that this wasn't the best work, I still think it was pretty hilarious, and I had to pause to stop laughing a few times before I could go on and not miss anything - so no complaints here. I think the first point where that happened was the whole 'Oh, is that your son?/Yes./I'ma kill it./Don't you do it./I'ma do it.' exchange.

There was a lot of stuff to love here though. I think my personal favorite gag, because I did NOT see it coming, was Cooler's 'Tonight I dine on monkey soup' line. I always wondered if I was the only one who got kind of a Shredder from TMNT vibe from Cooler's transformation (I think it's the face-mask thing that does it), and referencing his infamous line there gave me a moment of '...YES!', nice to know I'm NOT the only one that's ever thought this.

Honestly, I'm preaty sure anybody who has ever watched TMNT from any era would get a Shredder vibe from Coola. I would've been very suprised if there were zero refernces to Shredder.

Huh? There was a remix of the Dragon Ball Heroes song? Where?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZstUJQ2QLg Go to about 10:10. You'll know it when you see it.

Also, I'm a little surprised... almost no one has noticed where that song at the beginning is from. Once they do, though... ;D

Loved Revenge of Cooler Abridged, the Harmony Gold dub reference caught me by surprise that I nearly fell out of my chair laughing like a madman I gotta give you credit that was good.
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

The question is whether or not those references don't just sound like abridged Krillin randomness to those that don't get them or suspect them, in which case they don't really break the immersion. Goku's grammar gets to me more, honestly.
