Don't blame Fox on that movie. Saban is the one that put three movies into one big mess. They only released it hoping that it would be a big hit like the Pokemon movie was but it didn't. It's like blaming Fox on the Star Wars prequels when they just distributed them. I think Funi will be the one working on the film if it gets released here in the US.

I didn't think they did a bad job with the movie... Especially for the age group and the time period. If they added a mini skit and rap, remember the US GT intro...(not saying that's a good thing) I wouldn't mind so long as the film is still the film. But my fear is a Dubstep DBZ intro or "New pop" during certain scenes...
Don't you even give them any ideas about dubstep and dragonball! :P here's an interesting question for you folks. will there be an american score? or will they just stick with the Japanese score?

The Digimon Movies where pretty short which had them putting three movies into one. That was 12 years ago and you can't blame them for that. It's like blaming Warner Bros. on the Yu-Gi-Oh movie when 4kids are the ones most likely that created the hammy voice acting and the uninspired dialogue.

20th Century Fox is much better then they where in the past. They give big move improvements like Rise of Planet of the Apes, Prometheus, Predators and X-Men: First Class. I think this movie will be a sorry letter after DBE since Fox are helping giving fans what they want.

While I like it when TFS makes musical nods (Goku's Maybe Muffins was so cute, I still like Ghost(Nappa)busters, the parody for Make a Man out of You, Dende-Batman, Vegeta's lovely bunch of dragon balls, and others) I don't want to see Fox or Funi replace the Japanese score with something else.
On hiatus.

Yeah, I completely understand, espicially on Gouri. I'd like to see the original cast go out on a nice last hurrah before everyone eventually passes or Toei decides to clean house. This movie might be the last hurrah, so I'm hoping Toei at least plans ahead and has already begun recording.

Well, part of me wants to say "No need to worry, the anime industry of the US has outgrown that practice a long time ago", but considering that Fox is apparently trying hard to give fans what they want, that has the other part of me a teensy bit worried, considering the fact that a good chunk of the Dragon ball fanbase in the US seems to be in complete favor of the Japanese score being replaced, particularly if the replacement score is by Faulconer Productions.

I'm probably just worrying for nothing here, but you never know.

I don't think it would be too bad if the US got a musical score ''As long!'' as the DVD/Blu-ray had the option to listen to the Japanese score. because I like both. but if we don't get a US score that's perfectly fine with me. Heck, even if they released this movie in Japanese with subs I'd be just as happy.

Well, guys, it IS possible to influence on the dub selection somewhat. Back with DBE here in Mexico, fans were already raging about all the changes they were making to the story. It was an all new dub cast but we demanded to at least use the original voices of Goku and Piccoro. They changed those two voices and released the movie in theaters normally. If that could be done on Mexico, i'm sure it could be done on US.

Of course, DBZ is kinda important on the culture of latin america....

I forgot to ask will this new movie be shown nationwide across the theaters? or will it be a special viewing of some sort?

Edit - I deleted my crappy translation of the above picture since it got translated.

I'd like to hear new Kikuchi music. Or the old music rearranged, at least. Updated versions and all that.

A large orchestral score utilizing the themes/leitmotifs from the Kikuchi score?

That's highly unlikely considering all of Disney's Miyazaki Movies contain the original version. Those are releases truly aimed at American children and Disney still includes it. Considering a DBZ release will be aimed towards the teen crowd (People already of age to have Nerd Rage), I just don't see that happening.

What was wrong with the digimon movie!? That movie was awesome.. Music was awesome, everything was awesome. They even added that whole Sora and Tai love thing even if it wasn't in the original.. But does it really mean this dragonball movie will get a new dub?

^Everyone has their own opinions but most fans didn't seem to like since it's confusing mess because they combined three unrelated movies into one. I hope they use new Kikuchi music and they don't throw in stupid rock music for a possible US released. Funi did with Movie 4, 5 and the Broli movies but I doubt they will do it again (At least I hope).

I hope they replace everything with a 90-minute soundtrack by Disturbed.

Like, I thought I was kidding when I typed that, but watching people freak out prematurely has actually made me hope it's true.

Well, to be fair, it's way too early for me to try to predict any of this. But for the sake of discussion, FOX could have a different opinion than Disney regarding the importance of releasing the original version. Besides, Disney's contracts with Ghibli might contain specific details about making the film available in its original form (we already know for a fact that Disney's not allowed to make cuts to the films due to their contract). Truth be told, we don't know what FOX would do *if* they got this film. It's not like owning/releasing anime is a common thing for them.

Now, I don't think a dub-only release is very likely either. And I know that it's silly to even be worried about such a thing when hardly any facts about this movie have been revealed. I just think that in a day and age where even official dubbing/distribution companies *still* release certain family-friendly anime with cuts, edits, replacement scores, and dub-only DVD releases, it's best to cautiously consider it an option (albeit a minor one).

And I know it's off-topic, but hearing the American Digimon movie even being mentioned makes me cringe. Maybe if we all stop talking about it, it'll just... vanish from this earth... forever...
