Only when the opponent is around that level. Clothing in Dragonball seems to gain some of the defensive powers of those wearing them, something we see frequently in the series. In order to destroy the armor the attack has to be somewhere somewhat close to that of the wearers power.
I agree, a fan theory of mine is that each fighter has their own invisible ki shield tightly surrounding them. So in order to damage clothing, you have to break through it.

That makes perfect sense to me. It might even be something they unconsciously do, the clothes being on their bodies so closely and all.

From what I understand, that's how Superman's nigh-invulnerability works, too. His sun-charged Kryptonian cells generate a nearly-impenetrable force field of sorts. But it only extends to a very tight range immediately around his body, which is why his cape is usually the only part of his costume to be damaged.

That's just because it would be "stupid" to have their clothes completely destroyed every time the opponent sneezes.

Its almost the same as Hulk's pants.

Pan destroying Kakarot's clothes doesn't prove anything because it's merely a fan theory that they protect their clothing with ki or whatever. It'd be a different story if Salagir incorporated that idea into DBM but we can't really use it for evidence here.

I think Pan's only doing so well because Kakarot is holding back massively.

Given the latest page, I get the impression that Kakarotto being friends with Krillin was before, he went crazy. Maybe he went crazy, because he accidentally killed Krillin in a play-fight and therefore blames him and the rest of the earthlings for being so weak?

Yeah, I've actually read that in a Superman Encyclopedia... I think it said something about his "aura."

Was kind of hoping for a more glorious transformation, but hey, I'm still happy to see it happen at all. And looks like we called it, she's gonna live but is out of the tournament.

...Why does Pan's Super Saiyan hair look so much like Goku's from behind though? Was it the same way with the other Universe's Pan?

I feel like we are going to see a repeat of Freeza's demise on Namek.

I'm hoping there wasn't a little Saiyan in the little girls he was talking about before....

I'm surprised she still isn't a match for him. Maybe she is, and still isn't aware of the extent of her new power, but somehow I doubt it.

I suppose Pan is a Freeza level or possibly a Vegeta (first SSJ appearance) level Super Saiyan.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Ah, I think that was a really great way to end a match. Good for Pan.

That was lame. She shouldn't have transformed period.

But of course she did

Great ending, but I get the feeling that this isn't the end for some reason.

Weeell...she "lost with dignity", so I guess I can't complain. It's kind of cool, but, like Gohaz said, a little anticlimactic.

My feelings are confused!

It was about giving her some growth in the battle, rather than just having a child be beaten senseless. Allowing her to lose with some dignity.

Transforming allowed her to regain her composure enough to forfeit, which is a different and clever way to end the battle, rather than a sudden power up allowing her to dominate him.

What if crazy Kakarrot doesn't like winning the fight by forfeit, and tries to attack Pan again on her way out of the ring, requiring someone else to step in...?

So Pan turn SSj and give up? I guess it's better then having it being predictable by having her winning.
