When I was Otakon this year, I personally asked one of the Funimation reps about a future release of newer Dragonboxes. I asked, "Is there any chance of Dragonboxes for the movies, GT, or Dragonball being released or should I just give up hope?" He said they don't have it yet, but that they're working on trying to get it and to not give up hope. I asked if there was anything as a fan that I could do to help get them released. The Funi rep said, "Keep buying and supporting the official release."

That's interesting. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if FUNi somehow got to do another run for the Z set when (not if) they announce further boxes.
Also, what the hell happened to the movies set? A year later and still no further information.

I just can't wait to get a decent, consistent release of the entire series. (The entire series being DB+DBZ)

That's awesome. Now we just gotta sit back and wait. I've been thinking about buying the season sets of the original Dragonball, but I just can't when I know that there's a possibility of the Dragon-boxes coming our way. I understand that the problems that plague the Z season sets aren't as bad with the dragonball sets. but I'd just rather wait for in my opinion the best release.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Just shooting in the dark here, but it's possible they may be sitting on the movies until they can get the Dragon Ball movies and DBZ TV specials masters That would make for the total package instead of just the Z movies.

This is what I've figured is going on. I think they really want to do something for us fans to make up for the Blu-ray debacle. I will continue to have hope that this will happen. In the mean time I'll do my part by picking up the blue bricks and the z movie packs.

I'm right there with you but I think I might buy the Blue bricks since I desperately need to re watch Dragon Ball in JPN. Besides, they aren't too expensive, so even if the DB Dragon Box comes around, you'd probably won't be out of too much cash. Hey, you can even sell them on Ebay as a whole when you buy the Boxes.

Yeah...I may buy them, I haven't even seen the original Dragonball in it's entirety yet and I've been wanting to watch it BAD! :P I may consider buying the season sets but if I got them I probably wouldn't sell them :? I'm weird like that with my dragonball stuff :P

I NEED the DB Dragon Boxes! The audio quality on FUNi's current releases is...depressing. I like to watch my shows on my computer with headphones, but watching DB gives me a migraine from having such terrible quality audio.

We'll just have to find out if a possible Dragon Ball Dragon Box is in the works for 2013 since that's when we've heard there will be a new release for the original Dragon Ball.

I voted for the Dragon Ball Dragon Box as well. I'm just very curious of what FUNimation had planned for Dragon Ball next year. If it is the DB Dragon Box, Yeah! If it's not, we'll just have to see what they bring to the market.

I don't really care what Dragon Box comes out next, just as long as there is something, I don't want to see a good thing come to an end.

I have the first episode in Dragon Box quality, and it most certainly is. It's not AMAZING quality, but it doesn't give me a migraine at least.

I guess to each his own. I recently watched my set (finally subbed it) and the audio quality varies. You are right, it's way better than FUNis releases.

I honestly never thought FUNimation's DB audio was that bad at all, but different strokes I guess.

Give or take. To be honest, both mixes are good enough. In the end mono is mono, it's all up to the quality of the master.
