Would Vegeta have taken a student?
Or would his pride not allow it? What sort of person would he consider worthy enough? It could be funny to see him training a human in an ova.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
They'd have to have impressive potential for him to train them, so he definitely wouldn't take on a human student.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
Perhaps his brother, Tarble? Any sort of lost Saiyan would do.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
Well, he did train Trunks, so I guess he took him as his student. But Trunks is a nut so he lost interest in training.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
I don't think Vegeta would've taken on any human student. He had too much Saiyan pride to train anyone who wasn't at least part Saiyan.
The only exception would maybe be if Oob wanted to gets some tips and a hard sparring session out of Vegeta, but even the "tips" part would be a hard sell. I'm sure the sparring would happen, though.
Of course, Vegeta would have to be approached on the subject. I doubt he'd go out of his way to find a student. Outside of Trunks, he's more interested his his own personal development than anything.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
No, I don't think he would, unless, perhaps, absolutely necessary. I can't see him willingly sacrifice his personal training time for the sake of someone else and I believe he only did so with Trunks because of paternal pride or something like that. I believe Bulma even mentions something like that, like Vegeta wanting Trunks to surpass Gohan.
Now as a less serious answer, I can imagine a situation where Vegeta takes a student because Goku did and wants to prove that his student is better than Goku's student.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
I honestly cannot see it. But not because of Vegeta's pride or so-called loner nature. But rather just because he's too obsessed with his own training to waste time on anyone else. He didn't really seem to train Trunks, but rather just let Trunks train with him.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
No, Trunks was a special case because he was his son and he was partly using him as a tool to surpass Gohan and Goten, the remainders of his "lost" rival Gokuu. I think Vegeta would be too selfish to sacrifice his own training and potential for power improvement in order to train a student.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
Like others have said, I can't really see Vegeta taking on a student, at least not one of his own. He might, begrudgingly, accept a sparring match with Uub, and then probably get annoyed when he realized Goku had him do it for Uub's benefit though.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
The title should be "Would Vegeta have taken another student?" because kid Trunks WAS his student.
Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
I don't see any proof of that. We just see Trunks hanging out with his father and trying to keep up with him. Vegeta really doesn't seem to enthused about having him there. Nor is he really paying attention to him, until he powers up to Super Saiyan, that is.Marco Polo wrote:The title should be "Would Vegeta have taken another student?" because kid Trunks WAS his student.
Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
Yeah...that still means that he got a student of himself, though. Goku isn't much better with only taking it students with great potential (as well as Kami did).Gozar wrote:I don't see any proof of that. So he did take a student, and kept up with trying to get Trunks to train more for long after (we see that in the last chapter or something, right?).

Trunks was his student.
Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
I'm pretty sure Trunks qualifies. Bulma pretty much admits that Vegeta is training him and I think that more than counts. But Trunks is a special case and I doubt that this is what the original question was about. I think it's more like what Goku did with Uub.I don't see any proof of that.
Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
No, I don't think so. Unless it's a pure Saiyan that needs to be trained he wouldn't even allow any fool get 10ft close to himself. In any case, I don't think a human would survive his training method to start with.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

Maybe some kind of Saiyan, but definitely not a human student.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
In the Cell days, hell no he wouldn't. He didn't even want to be around his son, that was from the future! That's saying something.
Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
I don't think he would even take a lost Saiyan under his wing. I can't imagine King Vegeta teaching anyone besides his blood son, so I imagine the same goes for him and Trunks. The significance of it though is Trunks is a halfling and Bulma's son. If Future trunks didn't come during the cell arc and train/ascend/die, I don't think Vegeta would have trained near Trunks at all (as in wouldn't let him in the gravity chamber).
If Tarble got rid of the current wife and somehow had a Saiyan wife I feel like he would train the boy if he was asked or just for laughs that he could make the child make up for the awful fighter Tarble was.

Re: Would Vegeta have taken a student?
I'd beg to differ. Ten, Krillin, Yamcha, and maybe Chaozu are all stronger than the Saiyans (well besides the ones that are alive that is). Oh, and besides the Super Saiyajin before Goku and Vegeta. There might be tons of humans that have hidden potential.Saiga wrote:They'd have to have impressive potential for him to train them, so he definitely wouldn't take on a human student.
