But if I remember correctly, Goku hadn't seen Vegeta and Bulma in 5 years at the End of Z. That would mean they last saw each other when Videl was pregnant with Pan or a little before that. I would gladly hope they disregard that bit. ;D

I agree wholeheartedly, I'd love to see something kind of cute and touching like that at the ending.

Especially since it'll be the only way we'd get Pan in this thing.

Also agreed; that'd be cute to have at the ending credits. I really liked the bits near the end of Z where Goku and Pan hung out before the tournament; despite Goku's impulsion to run off and train with Uub (or maybe he had it planned a while?) I feel Goku and Pan have a really good relationship. Also, child Bura's such a blank slate; for all we know she's got strength like Pan does. Vegeta and Bura's dynamic would be entertaining to watch.

Speaking of trailer music... Two Steps From Hell allows the use of their music on non-commercial works... like AMV and school projects.

When I heard the trailer's music I thought for a second they could use music similar like the following:

Sons of War (Goku and Vegeta, anyone? )
Protectors of the Earth (players of ME3 might recognize this one )
Forces of Destiny
Heaven and Earth

Of course I would still like if they use some of the original score.

To get a brief tidbit about the company used that music on the DBZ teaser, Immediate Music was founded in 1993 by Yoav Goren and Jeffrey Fayman, who are internationally acknowledged as pioneers in the production of epic trailer music. With credits to over 5,000 film and television trailers, In addition to licensing their music to trailers worldwide, Immediate has also had great success with their commercial "Trailerhead" series of CDs. They also have a band named Globus whose song material is largely based on Immediate's orchestral and choral tracks (prior to their existence, none of IMs music were publicly available). An episode from between the animation series “Z” and “GT”, or in other words from the blank decade between the end of the battle with Majin Buu in chapter 517 of the manga and chapter 518, will be depicted for the first time.

Did they forget about that time when they animated the Jump Special with Tarble......and Z Movie 13? Because that would make it the third time, really.

I think they just want to draw attention; it's likely they didn't forget, but calling it the third rather than the first isn't as attention-grabbing, marketing-wise. Even though it isn't correct, I can see why they chose to say it like that. The average person isn't going to bother digging around to find out if it's true or not. I check the twitter search for the movie's listing sometimes and people are still just now discovering the movie exists almost 3 months after the announcement. When it comes to any show (or movie, or band, etc) each fan has a different level of interest and how much time they're willing to sink in to it. Marketing teams know this. It's how they got away with that with that strange thing with the Ultimate Uncuts where they threw a bunch of Japanese letters together in the ads and when translated into English, they were revealed not to even be words, just letters randomly typed in.

I totally realize how downer that sounded compared to my usual posts. I'm sorry for that. I'm weirdly cynical when it comes to watching certain marketing techniques in action. ^^;;


To try and end on a more positive note; I think that free public trailer music thing is really cool. I like learning all sorts of stuff from these threads that you wouldn't think would come up.
