My reimagining of the Shadow Dragons

Post by Nex Carnifex » Mon Oct 01, 2012 12:36 pm

Ok so I just had some extremely amazing ideas for a reimagining of the Shadow Dragons, here it is.

Ok so each of the Dragons represents one of the 7 deadly sins (it only makes sense, they are corrupted dragons and there are 7 of them) and each are also mutated reincarnations of deceased characters that represent these sins.

Pride=Cell. this is the most powerful Dragon (and sin) and is based off the design of Syn Shenron from GT, but reminiscent of Cell's body shape, which is less bulky. Like in his previous life Pride is very arrogant and confident of his power, he also has a similar goal to achieve the ultimate form, this time by devouring all the Dragon Balls to become the Omega Dragon.

Geed=Freeza. the third most powerful Dragon, Greed is based off the design of Eis and has the same icy powers, which coincidentally is consistent with Freeza's name pun. Greed of course has a selfish motive, to obtain the ultimate power so that he can rule the universe, which is the same motive Freeza had before being killed. Like Pride he wants all the Dragon Balls to become the Omega Dragon, but for a different reason.

Wrath=Bardock. Wrath is the reincarnation of Bardock, Goku's father, and is based off of Nuova Shenron's design, with the same powers as well, which represent his fiery wrath. Like Nuova, Wrath is the 2nd strongest of the Dragons and is more noble than his brothers due to the wish he was spawned from. His wrath stems from his anger towards Freeza. Wrath being Bardock will result in an emotional moment for Goku, who never knew his father, as well as a lot of drama around the fact Greed is Freeza. Bardock will finally get his revenge in the end, and his wrath will be cleansed, then he sacrifices himself to try and kill Pride.

Gluttony=Maj-Uub. Prior to this saga Uub will have already merged with Majin Buu to power up, but since Uub is already a reincarnation, this makes him viable to be a dragon, and he is corrupted by the 5 star ball. This causes Buu's hunger for sweets to re-emerge, and he goes on a candy beam rampage, however he retains his human body.

Envy=Captain Ginyu. Captain Ginyu represents envy as he is always trying to switch to another body to gain more power. In his reincarnated form, instead of switching bodies, he eats brains and adopts the traits from whatever it belonged to. He starts as a mutated frog. When first encountered by Gohan he has taken on traits from a pterodactyl and a T-rex, so he resembles a typical western Dragon just with massive power. Prior to the Shadow Dragon event Cooler attacked Earth and was killed by Tenshinhan. His current body is too big and slow to fight SS4 Gohan, but he finds Cooler's corpse and absorbs it, Cooler's cells dominate the dinosaur ones and he becomes a dragon like Cooler. Later he merges with Cell's old genetic information that is still scattered across the Cell games area, becoming a Cooler/Cell hybrid. He is eventually caught in Wrath's suicide attack and killed.

Lust=???. I don't know yet, maybe Ran-fan from early Dragon Ball, but I imagine she fights Vegeta and her powers of seduction and illusion test Vegeta's grasp on reality.

Sloth=Emperor Pilaf. Emperor Pilaf is killed by the original Shadow Dragon after he tries to use the Dragon Balls, and then brought back as a Haze Shenron/Pilaf fusion with similar abilities (a mist that makes characters slow slow and weak). He'd be the first dragon they fight, as he'd be created at the spot the dragon balls were used.

What do you think? Anything you think I should change?

Honestly, I'm not digging the idea. I don't really like the concept of bringing back old villains without the "grudge match" feel.

Way I see it, you'd likely end up with something close to Movie 11.

However, I would love to see someone do some new designs for the seven dragons, since I was always disappointed with most of them.

Sounds like a cool concept. I hope you could pull it off.

I take it you got this idea from the fanfic Dragon Ball AF: The Alpha Tour Saga?

No way, it would be nothing like that. In that case all the enemies weren't even threats so bringing them back was pointless. In this case they are brought back with new powers so they can be on par with a SS4, really all they retain is their memories and personalities, its better than cranking out 7 dull new characters with no chance for character development.

I kind of want it to be a girl thing, to go along with the panties wish.
