Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Delays have happened before. That's not what scares me. The "self-questionning" part does.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I don't believe the comic is ending, I'm still working revisions on my special with Salagir. I just think they're really backed up with work and are unable to keep up with the 3 day a week schedule. Still, I'm not sure what "self-questioning" actually means.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
They have been working on this comic since 2008. I doubt they will end it soon since they haven't finish the other battles yet. I think they should do one chapter a month instead having a new page once every few days.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I hope this is just another language barrier thing and it means "looking to find a solution (to address our busy schedule)" and not "deciding whether or not we want to continue." Unfortunately the tone of that particular paragraph doesn't help since it sounds awfully gloomy. Read just the first and last paragraphs and it doesn't sound bad at all.Scarz wrote:Still, I'm not sure what "self-questioning" actually means.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Maybe that would be more comfortable for Salagir (I still doubt it), but definately not for the translation team - it's actually convenient to translate one page every few days and not a huge group of pages at one moment.Hellspawn28 wrote:They have been working on this comic since 2008. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I think its related to Gogeta Jr, but I don't know anything more than you guys.
Maybe Gogeta Jr is really, really busy with "real" work, so much so that continuing drawing for DBM is in question or something. But, like I said, I don't know anything more than you.

Ah, well, hopefully he is busy with 'real' work. Certainly better than the alternative in this economy.

I think Cell is going to break lose or he will just regen back to normal. How do people find these leak pages?

Type the page numbers in the URL. Same way people found leaked episodes of Kai on the Nicktoons website.Hellspawn28 wrote:I think Cell is going to break lose or he will just regen back to normal. How do people find these leak pages?
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Aha, that's an interesting strategy for Bojack to use. Especially because those psychic strings actually lower their captive's power somehow. Bojack's going to have a problem making use of Cell being incapacitated without any teammates to attack for him, though.

Huh... this is a real bummer.... still, they managed to keep a schedule better than most major webcomic writers.... which is extremely impressive for a fancomic.

I'm hoping Cell doesn't just no sell the strings. It'd be nice if this fight wasn't a total curbstomp.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I wonder how long they will keep DBM running? I guess by 2014 then they might finish it. I hope they can do some more original projects in the near future. I think they have some good skills to become good artists.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I think it might be longer than 2014. Their nowhere near the end of the tournament and the "real" plot hasn't gotten started yet. It'd be hard to squeeze in the real drama in just 2 years.

You guys ever wonder if Saligir gets mad that leaks are posted here? He did make the thread.

I think plenty of things in this topic would upset Salagir more than leaks.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The French text talks about "remise en question".
I don't know if it's EXACTLY the same with the English "to question something" (in translation studies, you find out that it's actually much harder than looking into dictionnaries to find the perfect equivalent of a notion from one language to another". Litteraly, if you directly translated the French expression, it would be "to put something back into question", basically refering to the metaphor of "to transform something back into the form of a big question mark".
In French anyway, it can infer two things that are not on the same level of questionning, and unless you know more about the context, you can't really decide which meaning it is.
When you are in the process of a "remise en question", it can infer:
- You are fully examining something (or yourself) in order to find out what's right, what's wrong, why, if it needs to be improved and how to do it.
- You are trying to judge if something is worth existing and shall be continued or stopped altogether. (the basic notion of "to question something" I guess)
So I don't know if "self-questionning" does cover both those potential notions in English, but that's what the original French text implies: either they are saying "we're in the middle of a discussion to see what's been done so far, if it should be improved and how to improve it" or they are saying "we're trying to figure out whether we'll continue or stop the project".
When it comes to a person, it often means the first option. When it comes to a project, it often means the second option.
For example, the Dawnguard add-on for Skyrim on PS3 is being "remis en question" because it's hard to handle, or the video game Mirror's Edge 2 has been "remis en question" and the question remains today about if they'll make it or not...
In anyway, the notion of doubt and having to think it all through to know what to do next is there in both cases, the only difference is the potential outcomes: we don't if they're debating over improvements or over a possible cancellation, but as I said, when it comes to a project, the expression "remise en question" almost exclusively means "do we continue or stop?" in French, although it's not ALWAYS the case. Typically something your boss will bring up when you're already short on budget and there are still projects ahead: "guys, we have to question some of our next projects..."
