AVI -> DIVX
Hey can anyone help me? I'm really struggling to convert a huge AVI I made (40 megs) to DIVX.
I have DIVX pro and all the codecs but when I convert it to DIVX, all I hear is audio and see a green screen. I'm using VirtualDub to do the conversion.
Oh, the resolution of the clip is 225x225, not sure if that has anything to do with it?

40 MB for an AVI isn't huge. How long is the file? What codec is the original version in?
Furthermore, window sizes generally need to be of multiples of 16; 255 x 255 is far from that. It's rather odd for a video stream to be a perfect square; almost all video is either 4:3 or 16:9 in aspect ratio. Try resizing it to something more like 240 x 180 or 160 x 120, rather than 255^2. I can almost guarantee you that's the reason you're getting green.

8 seconds? Depending on what codec it's in, that sounds about right.
To re-size a clip in VirtualDub, go to the Video --> Filters menu, and select Resize. Put in your new height and width, and pick anything other than Nearest Neighbor (Precise Bicubic is good).
