It loses it's punch even more when said characters are getting their asses kicked and doing nothing for 9 episodes.

Wait, people actually wanted this? Doesn't anyone realize how boring and overpowered the whole main cast would've been? Guaranteed, it would've been a show about Boring Invincible Heroes. Hell, if GT went this route then the whole journey would've taken about a single episode.Chuquita wrote: Great! Going about it by turning Goku into a child and deciding on sending a boring version of Trunks and a grumpy version of Pan along with him instead of say, Gohan and Vegeta? Not great.

I don't care about power levels or the math involved in strength debates. You're quoting the wrong person if you're looking for a power level debate because power level debates are the most uninteresting thing about DB to me and I won't be engaging in one. They could pull out new villains that are supposedly stronger than the heroes and for the most part I'd buy it because I enjoy DB for the characters, not for the math. I have characters that I like and enjoy watching interact with each other and then there are characters that I just don't care about. I like Goku, Vegeta, Gohan for example. I don't like GT's interpretation of Pan and Trunks: they, for me, are boring.NeoKING wrote:Wait, people actually wanted this? And if power levels are such a big deal, there are ways you could word that wish to still nerf Goku's power without changing him into a little kid. Example: have Pilaf just wish Goku was as strong as he was when he first met him; by doing so Goku is now too weak to use a lot of his techniques. Just as an example. There's other ways to do it is what I'm saying.

Not once did I bring up power levels. I don't care about them either. Did you even see a single numerical value anywhere in my post? I dunno why you brought them up. But even without power levels, I know having a series where the three strongest main characters are on a journey to find Dragon Balls on these "weak-leveled" planets wouldn't be very interesting. I mean, they kinda had to dumb things down to allow our characters to actually do something. Vegeta or Gohan being on M2 would've made the whole storyline finish in one episode, because they'd make quick work of all the foes they met.Chuquita wrote:Something about power levels.NeoKING wrote:Wait, people actually wanted this? Seeing Goku be nerfed was hard enough, I wouldn't wanna have Vegeta or Gohan get nerfed just to stretch the show. Honestly, having a show where Goku went into space with Gohan and Vegeta would've been outright dumb, and fanboy-ish. Sure, they didn't do a great job with Pan and Trunks, but at least they were original and unique choices to go on an adventure with.

Damn, you're rude. Putting what you want to put in other people's quotes is really immature. If you don't want to quote what I actually typed and instead type up your own thing to put there in the quote to make yourself look smart or to try and make me look dumb, then clearly this is not a conversation worth continuing as I can't see any way of salvaging it.
You have your opinion, I have mine and we definitely disagree on what each of us like. Being mean to others and putting down their opinions will win over no one. No amount of inappropriate negativity you can direct at me is going to change my mind. I'm going to keep on liking what I like.

Oh, okay. I've confirmed that you realized that I was right and were avoiding admitting this the whole time. Had some suspicious of why you brought up power levels outta nowhere and immediately tried to write me off in the first place.Chuquita wrote:Damn, you're rude. I don't agree with you about GT. You're not going to get me to agree with you about GT. I have not been avoiding admitting anything; I'm not on these forums 24/7 and it's impossible to expect me to be. I brought up power levels because you were talking about character strengths. I did not try to write you off, you attacked my opinion and I defended my opinion, which I'm still doing.
In life you will find that not everyone likes the same things you like. Not everyone thinks the same way as you. It's okay to have people disagree with you, that's gonna happen. Debate can be a healthy part of life, but when you start telling other people that their feelings and opinions are wrong, when you start putting words in other peoples' mouths and pretend to speak for them, that's when you stop debating and start pushing others around. I'm not going to let you push me around.
Arguing over your opinion and my opinion is a waste of time. Let's just drop it and let the thread go back to what it's originally about; whether people think GT or Garlic Jr is worse.

Personally, i found GT to be worse, especially, after reading Kaboom rewrite version (Which really is awesome), Toei wasted so much potential
I still cannot believe however, how stupid Garlic Jr. is, i can understand, that back in Movie 1, he decided to open portal to Dead Zone, because he was stronger, than Goku and Piccolo, but now, where both Piccolo and Gohan could wipe floor with him, if not his immortality? It would be much better, if Piccolo just used Mafuba.

Re: Which is worse, GT or the Garlic Jr. Saga
The Garlic Jr saga might not be that great but GT is far worse because:
1. It's longer than the Garlic Jr saga, so far more torture
2. Goku takes up the spotlight
The one redeeming quality of the Garlic Jr is that there is no Goku, thus we get to see the other characters develop a lot more, also the Garlic Jnr saga, unlike the manga and Kai, gives us a good gap between the Frieza and Cell saga.

Re: Which is worse, GT or the Garlic Jr. Saga
I didn't see any power level debates, or anyone being especially aggressive. After Majin Boo, it would have been really difficult for the Super Saiyans to go into space and find any sort of challenge. Freeza conquered basically everything, and he was nothing by this point. GT's story is more like the earlier parts of Dragon Ball, where situations are more complex and so are the solutions to the problems - that kind of story can't really develop with characters like full-powered Goku and Vegeta in play. The only thing that could happen if the main cast were as powerful as the main cast at the end of Z is a villain who can blow up galaxies turns up, and the goodies beat him with lots of power.
Re: Which is worse, GT or the Garlic Jr. Saga
As much as I like GT ...
Nah, GT's still better than the Garlic Jr. saga. Gotta admit though, I do like the Garlic Jr. saga for it being what it was; a spin-off of the first movie and a chance to give characters to handle things on their own rather than wait until Goku comes back with newfound powers.

Give GT credit for creating Bebi since I feel like he was the best DB villain in a while. He end up taking over the whole Earth and nearly killed Goku. Not to mention, at least he had a back story and didn't feel like that he was just there just like Super 17 and Yi Xing Long where in my opinion.

Baby's the best DB villain since Cell, and arguably the best DB villain after Freeza.Hellspawn28 wrote:Give GT credit for creating Bebi since I feel like he was the best DB villain in a while.
