All of the Dragon Ball DVDs (except episodes 1-13) are already uncut as far as episode material goes, so it would defeat the purpose. Same thing with GT, it's already uncut.

I don't see how they could "Ultimate Uncut"-ify the original Dragon Ball any more than it is now.
Where's the beef?

I don't know about any insert song, but the 2nd opening wasn't their total fault.

Yep, Toei were being stingy with that like they were with the next-episode previews, so they never gave it to FUNi.

Doesn't explain why in the world they made Dead Zone as an "Ultimate Uncut Edition" DVD when they simply could have just release it as a standard redubbed movie DVD. o_O;

DBZ is where the money is. Saying it's a redub won't trick idiots into buying it a second time.

Haha, you guys might start critisizing me on this, but I'm going to purchase the so-called "Ultimate Uncut" dvds. I guess I want it because it is because of the subtitles done by Steve J. Simmons ( sorry if I got the name wrong ) I also own the original Saiyan Conflict box set, as well as the Namek box set, so yeah, I may be slightly retarded for purchasing all this. And also, I just love Sean Schemmel's Goku voice.

Dude, you are in no way retarded for wanting the FUNi DVDs, nor are you going to be criticized for it. The DVDs of FUNi's, while not being in the same video quality range of Toei's dragonboxes, are still as good as any other subtitled release. Like yourself, I too prefer to watch the DragonBall anime trilogy with a full, 100% understanding of the dialogue, jokes, and many other aspects. Trust me, you are not retarded for preferring highly accurate subbed, DVD packaged episodes over the Japanese unsubbed counterpart. It's all personal preference, and I take your side on the FUNi DVD releases being the wiser choice, because that's my opinion from my point of view.
I'm not trying to start up an argument here about what DVD format is better, both FUNi (accurate subtitles, decent video and audio quality) as well as Toei (superb video quality, higher episode count per DVD) have their own positives (which I kinda just listed

). 'Tis all personal preference, so no need to start a bickering war about this.

I have admit that I really don't like reading sub-titles in anime that's already dubbed in english. (I already do that with other anime not released in America) So good voice actors is important to me. I also prefer the series maintaining the same voices throughout the whole show. That is one of the benefits of the uncut versions. By the way Funimation is planning on doing the same thing with all of Pioneer's movies, why not Dragonball?

As previously stated above you, Dragon Ball (outside of the first 13 episodes) already HAS an uncut release, and therefore doesn't merrit any "ultimate uncut" rereleases.

When you post in a thread that's already been established, at least try and read through
some of the previous posts to see if your question has been asked or answered. In this case, both have occurred.

I was talking about the first 13 episodes and that in my opinion I would like it dubbed by funimation. Just because some people don't see a need for a "so-called" ultimate uncut edition doesn't mean everyone agrees. And the fact that I mentioned the movies was because Dead Zone didn't necesarily need an ultimate uncut edition, but Funimation did it anyway! I was only asking, Why not do the same for the first 13 episodes? If people don't want it, you don't need to buy it.

There IS a FUNimation cast dub of those first 13 episodes. It aired on Cartoon Network, and was released in Australia with a dub/sub DVD release. The US release is caught up in so much legal licencing red tape no one knows whats going on. You need to be more clear when reffering to the first 13 episodes, as they are NOT all of Dragon Ball.
As for why the US doesnt have the first 13 episodes, I believe theres a Podcast on that.

I stated earlier that I prefer that the voices are the same throughout the whole show. That being said, and that Funi and Pioneer's dubs have different voice actors, should have concluded that I was talking about the American release of the first 13 episodes on the DVDs.

Pioneer has never dubbed Dragonball, the merely handled the production and distribution of the first two seasons of Dragonball Z and its first 3 movies. I believe you are talking about the Trimark release of the first 13 episodes. It already has been redubbed and aired, as previously stated numerous times.
Dead Zone
did need an "Ultimate uncut" release, seeing as they used the Ocean cast instead of their current in-house actors. All of Dragonball(Except Movie 1) already has been dubbed by their in-house actors, its just all of it hasn’t become available for purchase as of yet. Therefore, the point of an "Ultimate Uncut" release, (Missing footage and different voice actors), doesn't exist for Dragonball, and that being said, it won't happen.

Umm... what?
Yes, it will happen. You're right that "uncut" versions with FUNimation's cast have aired on TV (as originally done in 2001)...
*but this hasn't gotten a home release yet*, just as you say so, yourself. Of
course they're going to put it out when they have the legal opportunity to. This includes both DB movie 1 & TV eps 1-13.
They wouldn't have paid Clyde to do the translations for the JP language track for subtitles on the disc had they no intention of releasing it (excluding Australia's release ^_~).

Dragonball's DVDs are
all uncut. Check the back of the boxes.
And yea, there is a Dead Zone UUE Edition, I own it.

I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.
