Which countries had a full theatrical release for the Movies

Post by wjbraden » Fri Nov 02, 2012 4:22 pm

I remember reading somewhere that France had a full theatrical release for a couple of the Dragon Ball & Z Movies. I think the US got at least one movie too, but I'm not quite sure.

I'm curious what other countries got a full release as well, barring Japan of course.

DBZ Movie 12 had a small release here in the US in 2006. It's also the only DBZ movie to have a rating from the MPAA. It's rated PG for action violence, thematic elements and some rude humor. Most movies dealing with Hell often get a PG-13 rating (e.g Spawn and the Ghost Rider films) or sometimes even R rating (e.g Constantine).

I believe the Filipinos in their country had their movie 5-6 mix aired in theaters, possibly more, but I'm not sure.

In Portugal we only had 12 and, I believe, 13.

I'm tempted to say only Japan had a full theatrical run of all the movies :P

I totally forgot about that it. I wish got the chance to see it since anything on the big screen is worth watching. I'm surprise the MPAA didn't give DBZ Movie 6 a rating as well. I always imagine the DBZ movies uncut would be at least PG-13.

Of course. The quality was half-way decent, but nothing to write home about, from what I remember.

France had movie 12 and 13 run at the movies as a double feature. I still remember the day watching DBZ on the big screen, that was a big thing for the teenager I was at the time even though I was sick with the flu!

Portugal had 12 and 13 because France had 12 and 13 (I guess the same happened for Poland and probably other countries that had their dubs based on AB Groupe's version).

Hope the new movie comes to Canada. :D
