Is it possible to play your own songs/tracks on PS3 while playing the game? Can someone confirm?

It's been possible since Raging Blast 1 so I'd assume that the developers have permitted for all other Dragon Ball games afterward.

Not quite sure if it's true or not that Microsoft holds the patent of custom soundtracks for console gaming, but it sucks anyway that in PS3 all games that I have for it none allow me to change the music.

It's silly that I have to hack my PS3 just to have basic features that are available legally on Xbox 360.

Just a quick but striking point before I go to bed:

The Budokai 3 story mode contains lots of new character renders with different facial expressions (the one you'll see more often being "happy/carefree Goku", which replaces the original "serious Goku" for like 80% of the time). I don't know if it was something already done with the original re-release or if it was specifically made for this HD collection, but now you have tons of various expressions for most characters through alternative renders (characters being scared, awkward, relaxed Super Saiyan, etc...)

After watching both Budokai & Budokai 3's credits Kenji Yamamoto is credited as music composer. Also the music placement on Budokai 3 is GREAT the tracks fit perfectly.

The graphics for the HD version of Budokai 3 look a lot nicer in my opinion. They remind me a bit of Burst Limit and they also look much cleaner looking then they did 8 years ago.

So to everyone in the UK who now has the Budokai HD Collection, have you guys found out if the Budokai 3 version thats in the game is the greatest hits/collector's edition version? Meaning does the HD collection have the 3 extra costumes when you imput a passcode into Dragon Arena? The 3 extra costumes are Halo Goku, King Piccolo, and Trunks w/ Saiyan Armor.

Darn, they removed the DBZ3 opening them... Fucking Yamamoto... :x
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I think it is the collector's edition, because you can set the voice in Japanese. They must have taken the source code from the greatest hits edition, they probably wouldn't bother to create a hybrid version by creating a new source code that has the Japanese voices from the collector but doesn't have the 3 extra costumes like the non-collector.

I'm trying to unlock everything as fast as I can, I'll try to confirm that as soon as possible, but someone might beat me to it. 8)

This would imply that the Budokai 2 intro videos are there too, which makes me wonder what soundtrack will be used. Plus, the source code had two versions of the video, one vocal and one instrumental. So did they really bother to change the code so that only one video will appear now (or none?!) or did they just set a totally different soundtrack for each of these Budokai 2 videos?

Again, that depends on how far they were willing to change things for this HD collection, but I don't think they'd take out any content, they were more into adding things like all those new facial expressions in the story mode perhaps.

EDIT: Apparently, it's been confirmed on French forums that the HD collection has the 3 extra costumes (or 4 extra characters, Vegeta not changing his appearance). No surprise there! 8)

Yes, it's possible. I wouldn't advice it because as stated in the most recent posts, the tracks are a perfect match for all that happens in the game. Great replacement score! 8)

Does the NTSC-U have Wake the Dragon with CHA-LA-HEAD-CHA-LA DBZ's Opening? I think so but all I've seen up to now is the PAL version with the custom made opening.

Cold Skin @ Namco Bandai (or Spike?) did a fantastic job with BT2 on RB2 but still, from time to time, I'd load up DBZ BGMs or just any others to listen to something else.

I can confirm it myself now. :)
I've entered the password in the Dragon Arena, and it unlocks the super-boosted characters to fight, and adds the 3 extra costumes on the other game modes! 8)

Well it looks like Bandai Namco actually went the extra mile this time LOL. I never got a chance to use these extra costumes in the original ps2 version, or play with japanese voices for that matter. Looks like I'll be enjoying THE authentic version of this game this winter

No Budokai 2, no Kenji Yamamoto OST and more importantly, NO ONLINE = NO BUY. Still though, its come to make me realize that all these HD Collections aren't really worth it in the end :/ Unless you haven't played or owned them originally.

I'm wondering if anyone's planning on uploading a savefile. As much as I would LOVE to struggle through the story mode again, I'd rather just have everything to start with in order to casually brawl with some fans like the old days.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
