What year did you guys became a DB fan?

Hmmm... it's been about ten years now, I know that much. However, if there's any one specific thing that got me hooked, it was the debut episode of Super Saiyan 3 on Toonami, when Goku first used it against Majin Boo. So if anyone can track down even a rough date for that...

Somewhere around 1997-98, I was 7-8, they started airing DBZ on Cartoon Network (European). I remember being very excited about it, somehow I already knew DBZ was awesome. It was like a marathon, 5 episodes I think, then the other day the channel switched to Fox Kids and never switched back. 4 years later, a local television channel started airing the series from DB.

I actually know the exact day that I became a fan. March 26'th 2002. I know that because the very day I started watching DBZ, I joined Score's old DragonBall Z CCG Forum. That kept track of my registration date and before the Forum became no more, I had memorized that date.

Sometime in 2000. That was the first year NZ had DBZ and they played from the Saiyan saga to Goku's arrival on Namek all in a row.

The first time I watched it was when my little brother watched it during the training for the Saiyans with Gohan running around during his wilderness training and thought it was kinda stupid.

By the time the Saiyan fight started though I was hooked!

96-97 perhaps? I believe DB started here in Portugal around 95, but since in 95 I was 2 years old, I think I only became a fan a bit later.
I still remember I was scared as h*ll when I saw Goku turn into an Oozaru for the first time (well the it scared me until I was 10 so I was scared by every tranformation. Especially the one in GT. Those red eyes... ).
