It's the same song that's been in the trailers.

There is no Kageyama song.

On the video game soundtrack ripped by a user it's titled as "Ending" than actually "Opening", and the Opening is the song used in the trailer but longer.

So it's possible that it's in Budokai HD, just not for the B3HDOP.

Rajman... smh.

Cloud Skin has confirmed so, and also posted the codes to unlock the four rewards.
Was this the North American version, though? Curious if there are any MORE differences between the two regions' releases. I'm hoping not, but I'm nowhere near unlocking Dragon Arena myself to confirm.
It was the European version, so indeed, someone needs to check it out on the US version I guess.

However, I doubt they would go as far as changing the source code to create a hybrid version between the regular edition and the collector edition.
I guess that for each region they just took the latest update they had of the source code, meaning the collector edition, and worked on it from there.
If Japanese is available on the US edition, then they likely used the source code from the collector edition and didn't take out the extras (I wouldn't see any good reason to do so).

But of course, the only way to be 100% certain is to have someone actually check it out, there's gotta be an American player around here that will unlock Dragon Arena pretty soon. 8)
When it comes to Dragon Ball, differences between versions in different regions (and sometimes in the same region!) can be quite hard to follow, whether it's for the games, the manga editions or the TV show!

Wait there are 4 rewards? I thought there were only 3 rewards (The 3 extra costumes), what's the fourth reward?

Oh hey I'm an American player LOL. Yeah the US version does have the extra content from greatest hits/collector's edition. It has the Japanese voices on Budokai 3 and the 3 extra costumes in dragon arena once you input the correct password.

Anyone know what they did with the unlockable videos in Budokai 3? I'm not sure if it was in both North American versions or just the Greatest Hits release, but you could unlock vocal versions of both Budokai 2 and 3's openings, and I think the instrumental version of Budokai 2's opening as well. I'm assuming they'd change the song to something generic, but is the Budokai 2 intro in the game still?

That's what I want to check out, as fast as I can. I'm still trying to unlock Saibaiman and Cell Jr. right now, after that, I have to get all remaining capsules, including Breakthrough and Memories for all characters, so it might take a while, maybe someone can beat me to it!

My bet is that the videos are still there, but with a replaced soundtrack. But was it scored just for it, like the Budokai 3 intro, or will they use one of the existing tracks? That's the question.
Anyway, the thing is that it's actually the longest thing to unlock, basically the very last thing you unlock if I remember well, since it only is available to buy once you have ALL the other capsules.

I guess it'll be sort of like "Budokai 2 isn't there, but you still have one of the best things it had to offer: its intro!"

Ah, I forgot how you unlocked it. Guess it'll be awhile before anyone finds out then.

I don't have a Blu-ray drive to check with my PS3 version, and I'm not sure what type of file structures are available on 360 discs when popped into a DVD drive...

But if it's anything like the PS2 version it's clearly just ported from, you should be able to dig around for the movie files on the game disc and see if they're at least just sitting there. Every single Namco-Bandai DBZ PS2 game had video files sitting in the clear wide open, as opposed to hanging out in some other program code or bundled together in compressed files.

That would actually be the fastest way to know, but I don't know if Blu-ray drive on PC is pretty common, and what chances are to have someone around here that has one (and the game itself).

Otherwise, the only really annoying thing that stops the progression is the time it takes to unlock the Dragon Arena characters...

As long as the capsule can be bought, it's pretty fast to earn the money and buy them: using Yi Shenron, who has seven ki gauges to start with, along with the "Sparking!!!!!!" (6 slots) and the "Turtle Shell" (1 slot) capsule makes it easy to win the Master Tenkaichi Budokai in 3 to 5 minutes, earning a 150,000 prize.
- The 200% "Sparking" gives you the high price.
- The "Turtle Shell" will make that - in most cases - you'll be the only one starting with enough energy to teleport, as it takes six gauges now, which makes it easy to ring out the unable-to-teleport opponent. They might resist a little, but not too much. Careful not to be on the very edge though, cause then if they use their throw on you, you'll automatically ring-out without a chance to dodge.
And if you're afraid to be bored during those money sessions and the back-and-forth in the shop's menu (until the new capsules appear), at least you can put your own soundtrack to give you some more motivation! 8)

But I'm currently at only 75% for the total capsules count, and Saibaiman is still nowhere to be found!!

I have a Blu-Ray drive and the PS3 copy of the collection, but when I put the disc into my computer it recognizes the disc as a blank, write-protected drive and I can't access any files on it.

You need to make a backup of the game, which I think it may be through a hacked PS3 but I'm not too sure.

There's AnyDVD HD which works to rip Blu-rays to the computer but for PS3 games it might not work properly. Eh, give it a go.

I'm doing what I can, guys! 8)
I'm at 90% capsules, I have all the breakthrough ones!
I just have to find that damn Nappa in Dragon Arena to get the Saibaiman, the rest should be available at the shop!

Saibaiman, a few capsules like max "We Gotta Power" and "Sparking" and Memories capsules, that's all that remains before being able to unlock those final videos and tell you about it!
(if no one else can beat me to it, that is! - regardless of the method used)

In France we have one, bashing the game and being bashed in return by almost a hundred fans' on "players' reviews" just below.
The review, written by a "professional" who basically established right away that HD collections were bullshit, stated that the game:
- is graphically ugly, both in Budokai 1 and Budokai 3, outdated in models as much as in animation, and with empty landscapes.
- has a lackluster story mode in Budokai 1 who dares to skip many important parts of the plot (said the same of every other Dragon Ball games, I don't really know what he's waiting for).
- has a completely uninteresting story mode made of boring dialogues in Budokai 3.
- has a gameplay that is boring and not worth anything anymore due to all subsequent games in the Dragon Ball franchise being far better.
- said "why Budokai style when everyone would want Budokai Tenkaichi style"?

And all of that after having reviews for all PS3/360 games back then, saying they were nothing compared to Budokai and Tenkaichi Budokai era.

Needless to say, the many "players' reviews" just below not only compliment the game, but also criticize the reviewer for bashing the game like that, likely unleashing his hatred for HD collections in general on this review.

The "professional" review gives it 10 out of 20 (5/10 - 50% quality), while players' reviews when added together give it a 16 out of 20 (8/10 - 80% quality) with 83 opinions.

It seems I have some bad news, people.

I've bought all "Memories" capsules, and no Video capsule appeared.
I went to check the menu in Dragon Arena, and there are no space left to add a "bonus video" category.
You just have slots for the memories of each characters, then the "fusions and absorptions" memories, then the "supporting cast" memories, then the 20 repetitions, and that's it.
No "???" left.

Against all my expectations, it seems this HD collection does not have bonus videos, therefore excluding the Budokai 2 intro.

What's the ending song for B1 credits and B3 credits?

Animositas ripped all of the music from Budokai HD and he wouldn't add a track to it that wasn't there originally, so B3 OP Instrumental probably is somewhere.

Unless it's DLC (Disc Locked Content) type.

The credits for both games use regular tracks (among the "BGM [number]" tracks).
Despite the fact that it's on the disc, I haven't heard the Instrumental version of the original Budokai 3 opening anywhere.

Yeah, the Ultimate Tenkaichi main theme plays over the Budokai 3 credits.

I forget which way it worked, but I know the either the Japanese or the North American version of Budokai 3 had the other region's version of the theme song (be it either full instrumental or full vocal) hidden away in audio files on the game disc despite it not appearing in the game that way. It's just a matter of them working on the game for two regions and having leftover files. I'm sure there are still some leftover files from the original musical score on this new HD Collection that just aren't referenced anymore in the game's coding in terms of when you actually play it.

I don't know if this has been brought up but certain attacks, due to the ferocity apparently, have been censored in America whereas the EU version of the game they aren't. Stuff like Broly ramming a persons face into the ground is replaced with a white screen.
