Self-chosen DBZ Video Game Awards

Post by ngnikolaos » Wed Feb 15, 2006 4:40 pm

Okay, in this topic you can give your favourite DBZ games the praise they deserve. Below are the categories I decided to put, as well as the DBZ game title I personally think deserves the title. Feel free to put your two cents!

Just remember the rules. :P
You don't comment how and why you chose each title in each award; and you don't add new categories. Oh, and you don't need to vote for DBZ games you haven't seen (let alone played).

Oh come on! You can't compare early NES games to current consoles! Of course they'll be the worse at everything!

Not really. Graphics - yes of course, but I would definitly pick that first Dragonball adventure type game over DBGT Final Bout.

Well there's not much point in me doing this. I haven't played many of the games.
Let's see...

Dragon Power

Super Butoden 1-3
Hyper Dimension
Legend of the Super Saiyan

Ultimate Battle 22
Final Bout

Supersonic Warriors
Legacy of Goku II
Advance Adventure

Budokai 3
Budokai Tenkaichi

That's all. Actually, that IS quite a bit...until you take into account how many OTHER DragonBall games there are.
DBZ MAN wrote:I'm sorry...How can you say that Sparking has the worst Introduction? More like the best.
Well, lots of people may not like it for it's 3D look. They'd probably prefer traditional 2D animation.
But remember, it's just an opinion either way. :P

Watch me. :D

In all seriousness though, graphics and music are the only things old DBZ games may lose by default. But I don't care about how much of the console's potential a DBZ game uses; I only care about how good it looks, feels, and sounds.

And to give credit to some old-school DBZ games, I think that DBZ Gekitouden for the Gameboy had a very good soundtrack (the Freeza fight clip is awesome). Gokuden for the SNES had awesome music too. I also find many Budokai 2 music clips annoying as hell. So there you have it.

Keep voting people!! :)

Oh, and Chaos Saiyajin, I hate to spoil your votes in a way, but... err.. Atari is not a design team. O_o

I haven't played any dbz games from below the PS1 era so I can't really make a long list.

Goku and Vegeta heavy-breathing man-humping, that's what's wrong with it. Looks far too scary in motion *shudder*.

Although, to Sparking's credit, Cell in the intro does look fairly badass.

So, lemme get this straight. You're condemning Tenkaichi's intro because of a 2-sec footage you didn't like? Yikes.

I'm taking it down to one category: Worst Game

And the winner is................The absolute worst DBZ game.........Ultimate Battle 22.

(pause for gasps that shouldn't exist)

What the hey, two categories. Most Interesting Intro

Sparking or Budokai Tenkaichi (whechever you prefer).
Even I became a loser when I made one of these...
