I've not got the time right now to translate it, but I can tell you the rough gist of it. At the beginning, Gokuu is talking about how his grandpa's hands are so big, and wonders if his own will ever get that big. Grandpa Gohan tells him that no matter how small his hands are now, they can look as big as mountains, someday. Gokuu naturally doesn't get it. A great many years later, when Pan is around, Pan leaps into her grandpa's arms, and bowls him over, and they have a little chat with each other, where Pan tells Gokuu she think his hands are as big as Mt. Paozu. This gives Gokuu a little time to remember back to his own Grandpa and bring the whole thing full circle.

Hey I was wondering if anyone could translate this for me. I would gladly do it myself but I cant find my notes anywhere so I have no idea what to do. I need this translated to Japanese for speech I'm giving on Monday. PLEASE HELP.

Discussion about Gohan apparently using Super Saiyan in the new movie got me curious about something. At the start of chapter 502, when Goku asks whether he should be a Super Saiyan before he and Gohan fuse, does it specify in the Japanese text whether he's asking about himself and Gohan, or could he just be talking about himself? That was the only thing from the manga that ever made me wonder if Gohan still had Super Saiyan up his sleeve.

So uh, basically, could anyone translate that little exchange between Goku and Elder Kaioshin please?

I guess we need someone to explain from the Japanese text, to see how we can interpret the grammar in the phrase (maybe the presence or lack of "-tachi"?)
But the French re-translation does consider it's only Goku.

For that, you need extra indications since English uses "you" whether you're talking about one person or several person. In French, we have one "you" for "you alone" and one "you" for "you both/all". So to make it clear for you, I'll translate by adding a "Goku" that's not supposed to be there if it's only Goku or "You both" / "you guys" if it encompasses both Goku and Gohan, and emphasize the points of interest.

CHAPTER 502: IS THE POTALAS FUSION GOING TO HAPPEN?!

SON GOKU: "By the way! Is it best to use the potatas AFTER having turned into a Super Saiyan?"

If the former, that's pretty much a definitive statement that Pure Buu is weaker than Evil Buu.

Thanks for that, Cold Skin! I did take a look at the Japanese line yesterday and didn't see anything that leaped out at me as being plural, but there's still a lot about Japanese I don't know, so I can't be sure.

Nope.

One might say because the picture shows Vegeta tearing out the Good Buu, that this only refers to the absorptions of the Kaioshins.

So the text only says "Buu was weakened when his absorptions were undone"? If this is the only thing below/above the picture, I think it's very difficult not to interpret this as Evil Buu not being stronger than Pure Buu.

Alternatively, perhaps one could argue that the text seeks to explain why Vegeta teared out the Buu; because his previous absorptions weakened him, he aimed to see the same thing happen again. Thus the text shows a picture of Buu being torn out and states "Buu was weakened when his [previous] absorptions were undone [so that's why, as this picture shows, Vegeta is tearing the Buu out]". Is this stretching the meaning of the quote too much?

I've heard that this quote can mean both Gohan "and" Gotenks and "or". Is this true?

And why is Goku speaking in the future sense since Gohan and Gotenks had already been brought back to life?
