A Dragon Ball movie would need a good director. It seems like James Wong likes the franchise, but he is not a good film maker since most of his movies are mediocre and terrible.

Directors that I think could make a good Dragon Ball movie:

- David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 &2)
- Guillermo del Toro (Blade II, Hellboy 1-2, Pan's Labyrinth)
- J.J. Abrams (Mission Impossible III, Star Trek (2009), Super 8)
- Steven Spielberg

I would like to see James Cameron or Ridley Scott direct a DB movie, but that will never happen.

Unfortunately the adaptation of a manga series which varies in tone throughout is a hard one to crunch into a Live-Action Film. Dragon Ball in live action is more suited for a longer series, possibly television, but thats already been done in animation . A ton of artistic license would have to be taken to condense the story into 2-3 movies. Maybe if they were 3 hours+ but...NO studio in the US would ever allow a manga adaptation to be released with that running time.

I'm sure we'll see some sort of live-action DragonBall years from now, but the technology is just too expensive in this current film economy to justify financing a potential box office bomb. Let's face it, DB:E did nothing but destroy the franchise's hope for a bigger budget adaptation.

DBZ 2013 film with 3D effect (glasses required or hologram) would probably be better than anything DB live action.

Hellspawn @ Cameron's Pocahontas was overrated. People exaggerated too much about it, it's nothing amazing.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I like Avatar and Cameron did other great films. Aliens and the first two Terminator movies are some of the best action movies ever made. He knows how to handle characters.
