The censoring is a smal thing. If anything, it's 1% of the entrie game. How does that make them doing a terrible job of it? They at least did better job than they did on Raging Blast series.Saiga wrote:That doesn't mean they have to be happy. I didn't say the censoring alone makes it a shit job. But there's also no online, only two games with neither Budokai 2 or IW making it, the replacement music (I know it needed to be done, but the tracks I've heard don't seem to fit as well). It's not just the censorship, but the censorship does make things worse.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:The censoring is a smal thing. If anything, it's 1% of the entrie game. The straw that broke the camel's back? I've never heard of that expression before. But it sounds very funny, and rather painful....Saiga wrote:So if you think it's not going to stop people from buying the game, why did you object to Hitiro informing people?DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:
So? So what if they censored Broli's attack? If that's the only reason you are not buying the game, then I'm really disappointed in you. There's a lot more to this game than a mere attack that's been censored.
If it wasn't such a big deal, there's no problem with Hitiro pointing it out, because it's better for people to actually know what they're buying when they buy it.
If people find out about the censorship, then choose to buy it anyway, there's no problem. If they find out about the censorship and choose not to buy it, then it's a good thing they found out about it beforehand, for their sake.
And it doesn't have to be the only reason, it could just be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Ok, it seems that some of the people in this thread doesn't realize that many PS3s cannot play PS2 games, and therefore, PS3 HD collections are needed for the people who want to play those games. You don`t want to play them, or you have a backwards compatible PS3? Great, then don`t buy it! I, myself, will buy the HD collection, even though I have all the PS2 Dragon Ball games, just like I bought the Sly and Jak collections, even though I have the games on PS2! Sure, there are a few minor changes. but we still get two great Dragon Ball games for the PS3 and XBOX 360, and a good Dragon Ball release that can sell, is something Namco Bandai really needs right now!

I don't have to like every product that comes out. I don't have to be thankful that they even put out a product. I don't have to cowtow and request more.
I can't even begin to fathom how anyone can seriously parade around and chastise other fans that dare speak out and explain in detail why they are not happy with a product that's been released.
If it's not what I want, I'm going to speak with my wallet. I'm also going to speak with my words. You're welcome to do the same and explain why you think it's a great product, and we're all more than happy to have that discussion, but I'm not going to allow anyone to legitimately shut down a conversation and other fans just because "hey be happy it's even here!"
Absolutely not. That's beyond insane. "Be happy you even got it"...? That's, like, deliveries of rice to starving people who then ask for pork-fried rice. Not Budokai HD Collection.

Okay, legally most PS3's can't play PS2 games (unless you actually buy the digital games from the PS Store) but with its potential unlocked it is indeed possible.songohan619 wrote:Ok, it seems that some of the people in this thread doesn't realize that many PS3s cannot play PS2 games, and therefore, PS3 HD collections are needed for the people who want to play those games. So, basically:Hitiro wrote:Checked my copy of the game and I can confirm that the EU (or the UK at least) version has the same censorship.
UK
+ Japanese audio
- Custom B1 Opening
- Censored Cutscenes
US
+/- English dub for B1 only
+ Original DBZ OP1 video
+ Alternate Japanese box art
- Censored Cutscenes
It's sad that both are fully censored, but for the Super/Ultimate Attacks how many of them were actually censored?
Broli's one looks pretty awkward with that blank white screen.

I haven't seen any other censored attacks yet Broly's censored attack reminds me of early 90's censorship where the characters couldn't be fit directly in the face on children's programming. The censorship on this attack is really jarring.

I am in the PS3s cannot play PS2 games camp. This is why I was excited about the HD collection, I lost my copy of budokai 3 for ps2 a long time ago and I sold my ps2 a couple years back (big mistake). But now I can enjoy these ps2 classics once again without going out to re-buy a ps2 and find another ps2 copy of budokai 3; I can just purchase the HD collection for simplicity's sake.songohan619 wrote:Ok, it seems that some of the people in this thread doesn't realize that many PS3s cannot play PS2 games, and therefore, PS3 HD collections are needed for the people who want to play those games. Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
I'm not sure you've read that right. CECHA and CECHB refers to the original PS3s with hardware emulation built in. CECHC and CECHE are the two models with software emulation. The PS3 slims are CECH. I'm pretty sure that what that add-on allows you to do is play PS2 ISO files on a console that already has backwards compatibility (which, in 90% of cases, will be used for pirated games).dbboxkaifan wrote: My PS3 Slim is CECHB-2003B but it's on 4.21 OFW and I'm not willing to pay for someone to downgrade it.
There's nothing about "unlocking potential". Sony took the hardware and then the software PS2 emulation out of the PS3 to try and save money, as the PS3 was hideously expensive to manufacture. Both forms of emulation (including the software one) required bits of hardware that were then taken out of of the console.
There is the bullet point after that one that says "Partial support on other PS3 consoles to play PS2 ISO's via software emulation". I don't know what that involves, but I can't imagine the performance is any good or what games it supports. I'm willing to be corrected though.

The homebrew community has been working on bringing back a lot of features, which of those are OtherOS and PS2, for example. When the time's right no one will need to pay for a USB PS3 to play PS2 games on PS3.
I paid for my PS2 original games so it's just fair that I can play them on PS3 too.
