Are you legit telling me Toriyama, who is now confirmed to be the one behind the movie's plot, is gonna write about Dragon Ball Heroes or Dragon Ball Online? That's what you are telling me? That's what you are telling me right now? What was created for DBZ video games are re-used in DBZ movies and other media: Plan to Earadicate the Saiyans was originally a NES game, Super Saiyan Bardock was created for DBH, as well as Baby Janemba who appeared in a spin-off manga, etc.

Can anyone here rip the Battle of Gods dbz logo off of any of the posters or ads please?

I'm not sure anyone was arguing that Toriyama "wrote about" Heroes or Online. I'm confused about why you think he couldn't possibly come up with the kind of plot points present in those games, though. We're talking about a man that spent a good chunk of his career doing poop jokes. A good portion of the rest of his career involves other types of juvenile humor. When a man is capable of designing snakes out of poop he's probably capable of finding the humor in a character named Booby. Heck, Booby fits right in with the ridiculous characters that fill the manga.NeoKING wrote:Are you legit telling me Toriyama, who is now confirmed to be the one behind the movie's plot, is gonna write about Dragon Ball Heroes or Dragon Ball Online? Besides, many plot points of Online appear to be Toriyama's ideas. Do you really think that anyone else would come up with Artificial Human 9 being Commander Red? Or Buu reading Bob and Margaret? Amongst many other little things.JeffJarrett wrote:What was created for DBZ video games are re-used in DBZ movies and other media: Plan to Earadicate the Saiyans was originally a NES game, Super Saiyan Bardock was created for DBH, as well as Baby Janemba who appeared in a spin-off manga, etc.
What I'm telling you is that things from games bleed out to the rest of the franchise and that Toriyama might reference something from Online since he was also involved with that and stated that it is a direct continuation of the manga.

About Dragon Ball Online:
"Series creator Akira Toriyama has a great deal of creative control over the project, both contributing to and supervising the story and art design, including character and location arrangements."
And as for Dragon Ball Heroes, I doubt Toriyama has any place for that project, but it's a major one for the franchise.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Pleasently surprised to hear the material we've gotten so far is real.
As I said earlier, I really like the villain(?) design, despite (or because of) how different it is.

I don't think he ever said that. But, I mean whatever floats your boat. Personally, I don't wanna see a movie made to establish a connection with a Korean online computer game, but, if it does that's cool, I guess. What I'm telling you is that things from games bleed out to the rest of the franchise and that Toriyama might reference something from Online since he was also involved with that and stated that it is a direct continuation of the manga.

Would anyone object to Future Trunks making a return for this movie? He's not on the movie poster, but I think Kid Trunks meeting his older timeline counterpart would be very interesting. It would also be awesome to see how Future Trunks had aged since we last saw him. He needs to come back in his time machine more often. We haven't seen him in a while.

If it was well done I'd have no objection. I think the problem would be that it would be packing an awful lot of plot points into one film that will, in all likelihood, not be particularly long. We've already got new villains, Pilaf, and a variety of supporting characters apparently showing up (Videl, Tenshinhan, etc.).PiccoloFan7289 wrote:Would anyone object to Future Trunks making a return for this movie? I really don't see it happening, but if it did and was done well, sure. I'm not really that big of a Trunks fan, but I wouldn't mind seeing the future form again.
As for the length though, I'm still really hoping it'll be at least 1 1/2 hours long. We need a full length film for once in this franchise.

I'm hoping for Strong World length, give or take several minutes. >_>
As for Future Trunks; while I remember wanting him to come back when I first saw the end of the Cell arc, I just don't see how he could fit into a movie that's relying more on the mystical aspects of DB than the sci-fi ones. It'd be nice to see him again, but I don't think this'll be the outlet for that; feels more like DBO's territory.

I was originally kind of thrown off a bit by the apparent villain of the new movie. However, I'm actually sort of digging it because it's not something that's been done before. I mean, we could be getting "Dragon Ball Z: Brolecce's Saiyan Fusion Revenge" or something dumb like that.

I am so relieved that this isn't going to be the 4th Brolli movie. I mean, I didn't think the possibility of it being Brolli was that likely, because he already had 3 movies and one of the Kai stage shows, but the idea was there in the back of my mind, what with him getting ssj3 in Heroes and that figure for his ssj3 form being made.
I do like Movie 8, but I feel that Movie 10 suffered from a lack of Vegeta and actual dialogue on Brolli's part, and reusing Brolli again for Movie 11 (I think it would've been possible to have just had that powerful sludge monster in 11 without it being Brolli's clone) felt like overkill.

I wonder if they'll be any cool, deity servant henchmen in this film? I actually want to see Gohan, Gotenks and Vegeta actually fight and maybe gets some kills instead of being swatted around by the final form of the Big Bad.
Also, does anyone think the pink women in the middle might actually be on their side and act as a new supporting character, similar to how Tapion was in Movie 13?

Pink-Lady as a supporting character....*imagines that in order for him to do magical battle, she'd have to imbue Goku with a movie-exclusive magical powerup*.
I would so watch that. *_*

Though I like the idea of her being the bad guy too.

It was just an example. The first dumb idea I could come up with were the return of Broli or Tullece. Then, I just added them fusing on top of that to make it ultra-dumb. Maybe I should've done a joke about Jees and... Dr. Gero or something instead.Chuquita wrote:Kendamu wrote:I was originally kind of thrown off a bit by the apparent villain of the new movie. Knowing them, she would be also be called a pun for "pink mage" in Japanese or something. xD
