Given that this trailer has been in production for at least seven months and has gone way over budget I wouldn't give them money for a full feature film if I had the power. I admire their ambition and kudos to them for taking the initiative and actually trying to get this done. But honestly, they aren't the most professional group of people I've seen. If Hollywood was actually going to take Dragonball seriously I'd rather them do more projects like the 2013 movie or at least find a Director with better credentials. But not these guys.

The only problem is that there is hardly anyone in Hollywood that would want to do a Dragon Ball movie or take the idea seriously. I can't think of any directors that would love to do it as a dream project.

Perhaps not right now but I'd imagine that given a few more years, eventually people who were at the right age when Dragonball was huge in America and became directors will eventually reach the age where doing a Dragonball Z movie would be a dream project for them and they'll have the experience and studio backing to do it.

That's most likely true. I hope those people don't make DBZ into a mindless action film with eye candy CG just like movies such as Battleship, Star Wars 1-3, 2012 and the Transformers movies.

I don't know why, but that sounds like a recipe for disaster. They'd probably change a bunch of stuff around to "modernize" the formula (since you're picturing a future about 10 years later or more), and then we end up with DBE2.

DBE was pretty much modernize the formula. I have a feeling that most people who were at the right age when Dragonball was huge in America might turn into directors like Micheal Bay or Roland Emmerich who just make stupid mindless movies. Lucky for me, I grew up watching a lot of old classics on TV and VHS back in the 90's.
