We have no idea. The system is capable of DLC, so we'd just have to wait and see.
Is it? I could've sworn that 3DS got some kind of DLC for a game (can't remember what game), and they can update games (I know Mariokart 7 gets updates), so what's stopping them from DLC?

TheDevilsCorpse said the 3DS is capable of DLC, because it is. Fire Emblem: Awakening is a DLC machine in Japan.

Now that I remember, Trevax on an interview with Namco Bandai asked about DLC for Ultimate Tenkaichi (was it?) and they said no. But this is an exception as it's Japan-only, so we'll see.

Well, holy hell. I would actually buy this game, provided it's stand-alone and doesn't require card-scanning, hope it gets released stateside and may even consider importing it if a viable method of getting around the region-lock is discovered. I guess I'd have to actually buy a 3DS first, but still.

My standards for Dragon Ball games are pretty much "the more fanservice, the better," though, so maybe it's not that surprising that I'm into this.

"Dragon Ball Heroes Ultimate Mission, a 3DS adaption of the card game first teased in August, will release 2/28 for ¥5,800. The game will include complete card lists from sest 1 through GM4, a mission-based mode, and a new opening animation; early buyers will get special cards for the physical game."

Only thing interesting to me so far (unless we get a localization) is the new animation and any new what-ifs we may get with the "story mode", assuming it has actual story.

I do find it amusing that it will be outdated before it even gets released.

Yup, probably by two sets by then (GM5 & 6).

That's the thing with video games based on card games. They're unnecessary. Well, they're only really good for those who don't want to spend enough money supporting the actual game and for those who'd like to practice decks / strategies without having to actually own the cards in real life.

In Ultimate Mission's case, though, I guess it's something to satisfy fans while they're in school at work, foaming at the mouth to dash out to the arcade after hours and rip their friends a new asshole with their newly opened Secret Rare SSJ4 Goku card.

Bebi Gohan, Bebi Goten, Bebi Trunks, "Super Bebi Vegeta", "Super Bebi Vegeta 2", SS2 Goku (GT), SS4 Goku (GT) and Super Uub...plus whatever else is new in GM6 and Future Gohan now that we know he'll be a card given with the game at release.

If they are also counting the Dimensional Transfer bosses, then Oozaru, Super Oozaru, Super Oozaru Bebi Vegeta and Llod shouldn't be playable either, though all but Oozaru Bebi might still be able to be fought since they were bosses before GM5 made them summonable.

I was just thinking, this reveal of Future Gohan might mean that next set will have Super 17; think about it, you cover the special, which is just Gohan, Trunks and 17 and 18, then Super 17 which is basically a bunch of repeated characters from previous sets, they're kind of inter-related and you kill two birds with one stone, or set.

Basically all the characters I wanted to play as. No thanks to this game then.

Isn't 3DS DLC supported? There is the possibility that the game will get updates, right?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Huh. You'd think they could at least include GM5 before release.

Isn't it Future Gohan between King Cold and Guldo shown in one of the first screenshots of the game?!!
