Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
Does anyone think that after Boo Kai airs, Funi will repackage all Kai Blurays and DVDs with new artwork or just add it on to the already existing 4 season sets as a continuation?

Season IV has a few eps that they could add in but this Buu Kai arc is probably going to be released in 2013.Xagani wrote:Does anyone think that after Boo Kai airs, Funi will repackage all Kai Blurays and DVDs with new artwork or just add it on to the already existing 4 season sets as a continuation?
Wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed for months.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
I'm really excited for this.
Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
This is great! A new English Boo arc by Funimation will be interesting to see. Hopefully they will act with the same vigor they seamed to for the Saiyan and Freeza arcs.

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
So how will they eliminate the filler considering some is very well integrated into the Manga material.

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
Some of it will likely have to stay, just in a more limited capacity, because of that. At least, that's what I'd guess, kind of like how Kai had to keep Gregory, and Satan's students and their announcer.
Hmm...they'll probably have to keep at least parts of the Pterodactyl stuff in the Saiyaman arc, right? I seem to recall the anime having the end of that be how Videl figures out who Gohan is.

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
20-30 episodes for Majin Buu arc should be more than enough to cover the whole anime-manga Kai version, right?
As for the picture quality my expectations are pretty low to none to watch it in proper HD, but hey, at least do a decent job with the voice cast and music, mkay, Toei?

I'd give them a little more than 20-30. Wasn't the Cell stuff just over 40 episodes?dbboxkaifan wrote:20-30 episodes for Majin Buu arc should be more than enough to cover the whole anime-manga Kai version, right?

So is anyone else wondering about the whole Anoyoichi Budokai thing? Do you think they'll quietly brush their episode 98 "ending montage" under the rugand forget about it, or will they do something dumb and actually include it?
One scene that I think will be particularly awkward to cut around is the lead up to the final fight with Goku and Vegeta luring Boo away from Kuririn and co. I could see them just cutting straight from Boo reforming after destorying Earth to the start of episode 279, although that could seem quite abrupt.

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
Maybe it'll be completely re-animated, so cuts won't be as awkward?
That's likely to happen, right?
Right?
(No.)

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
A lot of the time in Buu saga, the filler actually did a good job of improving some of the pacing. I feel in the manga, while not bad or anything, it had a feeling of Toriyama running for the finish line. While I'm glad to have Kai coming, I think a lot of the filler will leave a bit of a hole.
Though I'm hoping we do get to see the sudden appearance of "I got beat up" Gotenks, rather than showing that fight... just because I found that scene funny in the manga.
Other than that, base Vegetto, SSj2 Goku vs. Buu, Goku vs. Vegeta, Kuririn rushing Buu to try to let his family get away, "he looks like me except less handsome"... with all this and more, I don't think I'll be neglecting Z in favour for Kai any time soon.

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
Praying to Kami they don't cut out the Cell Games Reenactment.
Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
The Majin Boo arc will probably be around fourty episodes in Dragon Ball Kai. Ninety-two episodes merged into fourty-six episodes, minus a few Dragon Ball Z episodes for not including any material from the comic. I would think they would simply repeat what they did with the Cell arc so as to ensue about a years worth of new episodes.
Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
It's probably some stuff that Goku did while dead and little to none of it will be mentioned in Kai's Buu Saga.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote: So is anyone else wondering about the whole Anoyoichi Budokai thing? Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
Since it might be hard to cut around the stuff with Kid Boo on Grand Kaio's world, maybe they could delegate an explanation of what Goku did in that tournament in the opening, 'last time' type thing for the first new episode.
