On average, a Kai episode covered about two Z episodes. So, I wouldn't be surprised if the Boo Arc was about 50 episodes long. Your list probably isn't too far off the mark.

It would be for me. Kara Edwards, or I torch the place.

Given how easily they replaced previous actors without even telling them, there is a chance of that happening here of course, but I'm hoping it doesn't happen. Edwards continues to do work for them off and on even nowadays, so hopefully they'll be able to keep her.

Even though they're smaller roles, I'm kind of interested to see who'll end up playing Babidi's cronies. Or Babidi himself for that matter.

Babidi's old actor is another one that I'm perfectly fine with. He's a spoiled-brat insect man with a massive ego and sense of entitlement. I felt that the voice they gave him in the original Funimation dub fit that fairly well.

As for Kara Edwards, like I've said, I really hope she reprises the role. I know a lot of you didn't really care for her take on Goten or Videl in the old dub, but, listening to some of her more recent performances as the characters, I think she actually has improved since then.

That said, I've heard (VERY UNSUBSTANTIATED) rumors that Luci Christian might be playing Videl, and honestly, she'd be my second choice.

Am I the only one that's concerned if the picture quality is going to look crap? (Probably it is; the original Kai picture quality wasn't anything great).

Her vocal range is impressive. From innocent Tenma Tsukamato from School Rumble to alien warrior woman Milia from Macross. I'm sure she can pull off a good Videl if she was chosen.

Hmm...I could hear Luci Christian doing a good Videl (though my hope is still for Edwards), she's an amazing actress. And it would sound closer to the Japanese probably, with her usual tone of voice.

Odd though, I was already kind of thinking of her for Goten if they had to change him.

I hope they get a Boo who sounds closer to the Japanese one. Super Boo I already love, so no need to change, but only Fat Boo. The Japanese one had a whole other tone that I loved, and really surprised me of how terrifying he could sound.

Maybe Josh Martin could be a decent fat Boo if he'd use a voice similar to his kid Boo voice. It's a little deeper and more raspy, somewhat like the Japanese voice. Of course, I'd like it to be even deeper, since even his kid Boo is too high pitched.

I'm more worried that they're still going to script him like a baby.

Yeah, I hope they even out his childish and, well, not-so childish side and don't overdo it.

But new BGM will be necessary after all, won't it?
Unless they choose not to change the music for both the opening and ending.

Cause otherwise, if there are new songs, they'll have to call a new composer anyway given that the eyecatches and next episode previews are to be instrumentals based on the opening and ending.
And I doubt they'll hire someone just for two 3-seconds tracks and one 30-seconds track, they'll say "since we hired you, give us 35 new tracks for the show while you're at it".

Or maybe I just hope too much and they'll have eyecatches and next episode previews just be one of the available tracks... I'm not sure that would work out as well though...

CS, what makes you think a non-Japanese Kai release is going to be better than the original was?

If Toei Animation ever cared about making Kai a quality cartoon series, they would have.

It doesn't need to be better, just the same. 8)
And since they're dubbing it in Japanese, it must mean they know they have to do it the exact same way they did it until now, the Japanese way, as if aired in Japan.
Meaning they should care about having new openings, endings, eyecatches, etc...

So there is hope. If they do it despite not airing it in Japan, it must be that they realized how important Kai was, at least on an international scale if it's not on a Japan scale.
So they'll do just what they did until now, no more, no less. That's what I think. 8)

The only big question is about the music, since the original concept is to have new music, but the emergency made it old music, so they can choose whichever way for that:
either they'll say "now that we're not in an emergency situation anymore and we have time to prepare, let's go back to new music with a composer we trust more",
or they'll say "well, since we had to arrange a new Kikuchi score, we might as well keep it that way now".

But if they choose the latter, then the eyecatches and NEP will lose their "instrumental of the opening/ending" aspect.
Wouldn't be such a big deal, but surely an oddity.

I hope if Kara Edwards doesn't come back, I hope they get the actress who played her in Super Dragon Ball Z.

While I'm cool with Kyle Herbert with Gohan and would love to see him return, I'd like it better if Dameon Clarke took over the role. I really liked his Future Gohan.

Sadly, that would definitely never happen, since Clarke has pretty much moved away from voice-over. I'm not sure he's in Texas at all anymore.

That said, they did somehow manage to snag him back for Cell despite all odds (and a small part in the YYH OVAs), but...still, don't really see it happening.

While i loved Kara Edwards and Laura Bailey in DBZ, and would be happy if they return for Kai, i hope they won`t be ask to "improve" their voice, like Eric Vale.

Yeah, I can't watch the Cell arc of Kai thanks to Vale's raspy trunks. And he was one of the few I was looking forwards to... >_>

Good grief. That is by far the worst voice in Kai and the fact that Trunks talks so much in the Cell arc doesn't help either. I'd fund a redub of Trunks if I had the money
