Quick question because I can't seem to find it anywhere but has it been confirmed how long this movie is? Is it like the other movies which were around the 50 minute mark or is it like Wikipedia says (seeing as how its Wikipedia I'm hesitant to believe that's real) and its 121 minutes or an average movie length of 90 minutes+

The line was, er... six people. I was third in line, and Osaka superfan Peking Duck was fourth. Of course, I can't speak for other locations (Apollo Cinema 8 is probably the least-busy movie theater in Osaka City doing the promotion, being in Abenobashi rather than Umeda or Namba), but we would have been just fine sleeping in and getting there just before it opened. That said, I had a very interesting and informative conversation, and established a working relationship with someone who owns every last Jump issue the series appeared in, among much else. That alone was worth the three-hour wait.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:Image nabbed from Julian's Twitter:

That's one big ticket.Wouldn't mind having one of those.

I wonder what the line was like.

Whoa! That is a big ticket. You should frame that!SaiyaJedi wrote:The line was, er... six people. I was third in line, and Osaka superfan Peking Duck was fourth. Wait... This is very very interesting. This means that you can possibly get copies of relevant pages which may contain interesting tidbits about many things we've been missing and wondering over the years. Maybe not but then again, every now and then something new pops up from the annals of Dragon Ball history, like the back story for Coola's and Tullece's henchmen.SaiyaJedi wrote:That said, I had a very interesting and informative conversation, and established a working relationship with someone who owns every last Jump issue the series appeared in, among much else. Wow, was it complete coincidence you two ended up in line together? Or was it planned out? I've followed his blog and collection for a while and he is quite a wealth of knowledge to be in contact with. I'm really curious how your conversation went! Did you immediately introduce yourself as the famed Julian of the old Daizenshuu EX?SaiyaJedi wrote:The line was, er... six people. I was third in line, and Osaka superfan Peking Duck was fourth. Woah, that means 2013 will have some extra support for our favorite series.JulieYBM wrote:There's an English translation of Toei Animation's 2Q report out. Looks like they're expecting Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods to do well. Also, they've formed an official '2013 Dragon Ball Z Production Committee', which is standard procedure with Japanese animation as it is. That government money is sure to help, but I have to wonder who else is on the committee.
I'm also down for the MA-KAoShIN Theory, maybe animal-like creatures are the supreme specimens of the universe.

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less about the fans a re-issue might alienate because if all they're concerned about is being able to scalp the people who were either unaware of the Dragon Boxes or couldn't afford them at the time, they're just leeches and deserve to have their greed backfire on them.

I think this movie should've been called 'Battle of Dogs' where the story behind the King of the World is revealed...Get it? "Dogs" is "gods" rearranged.Fox666 wrote:Or king of Earth.
...OK, so it wasn't funny.

There's no link to the run time on the Wikipdia. I would not believe it until we get a official source from Toei on the official run time. I'm pretty sure it's going to be barely a hour long like most DBZ movies are.gohan2k wrote:Quick question because I can't seem to find it anywhere but has it been confirmed how long this movie is? Well if you recall, the previous 17 movies were screened in conjunction with other Toei films. Given that this is going to be a stand-alone movie I'd assume that it will clock in at 80 minutes-plus.Hellspawn28 wrote:I'm pretty sure it's going to be barely a hour long like most DBZ movies are.
On a side note, does Toei still use the "waves-and-rocks" logo?

Yes. It's their main logo, it hardly changed in the past few years.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:

Pretty cool Hector. I'd imagine that's how his legs are more or less going to look.

Is there any way we can get Gohan's Mystic form back in this? Honestly, bringing back his Super Saiyan is so stupid. "Mystic" was one of Gohan's unique abilities. And having Goku, Vegeta, Goten and Trunks Super Saiyan is enough.
The world's greatest.
