Fan Works Explosion
Re: Fan Works Explosion
It's indeed pretty good, with nice proportions and all (guh, proportions... that's the thing that'll make me unable to draw anything right for the rest of my life!!).
Re: Fan Works Explosion
Look, don't be too hard on me, I did what I could with my very limited skills to remove some of that fog effect on some colors on your picture.
That's about all I can do, I'm not the right person to properly restore this!

Thanks for all the commentsCold Skin wrote:It's indeed pretty good, with nice proportions and all (guh, proportions... that's the thing that'll make me unable to draw anything right for the rest of my life!!).
I used to suck at proportions myself (even in this one I think Vegeta's legs look a bit too short), but I've gotten better over the years. There is still hope for you, @Cold Skin

Re: Fan Works Explosion
I haven't posted in forever, but here's something I'm working on right now. It always bugs me how in any of the post-Buu and pre-end-of-Z works we never get to see an in-between Goten or Trunks. So here is a slightly older Goten fighting a resurrected Tambourine, because why not?

That's sick, he looks like he's wearing a suit fused with a Dougi.

I like how you have your original character in the back to command them, Lemmy. Are you planning to take over Kanzenshuu with those robot Gotens?
Also, I like the style in your drawing, Detective X! Great drawing.

Eight & Munchy and Crono look awesome in their dougi!

Well, he does have a computer at home, so why even bother with magazines!Gyt Kaliba wrote: There's much to love in that picture. I especially love how Gohan kind of looks like he's wondering why he's even looking.

Nothing comparable to the quality of those linearts, but... New concept for teen Bulma and kid Trunks, done the same way. Can you see they are mother and son?

I kinda wanted a "modern" (or one may say "more like our world") take, but still retaining elements from the originals all over.
BULMA:
- The outfit's colors cover her first appearance (manga version). The shirt, instead of being orange with red lines, is orange with red dots on the sides.
- The chair of her room retains the "very girly" side she can have, echoing her pink outfit in the series.
- The sunglasses on the desk are more like her badass "motorcycle" side.
- The desk is supposed to have a very "scientist" touch with that white, with touches of yellow and blue/turquoise, a little similarly to capsule houses and likely most things made by Capsule Corp.
- The various messy things she wears as a bracelet may look like talismans and such, but they're just about fashion for her. The green bracelet, with its zigzag pattern and "head", is to echo Shenron, the legendary dragon that is now the center of her quest through the world, one might say her new passion or hobby.
- The ring, although you'll probably won't see it with that size, echoes a miniature Dragon Ball, having a yellow sphere with three red dots on the center. Again, echoing her center of interest (she likely has more than enough money to get any "wanna wear my passion" stuff built specifically for her at any time, with her parents not being too regarding on the money she spends for her fashion or whether she goes around the world or not).
Phew, proportions... Even when taking things like photos, proportions will always get in my way.
Here, I'm afraid she might seem a little "fat" overall (given that in the original manga she's very thin, as noticed by Goku when he doesn't understand what a girl is yet). It mostly comes from the size of her arm - right below the shoulder - and the position of her stomach which isn't all clear: she's supposed to be in an unusual "in between" position, with the chest in total side view while the stomach/belly is more oriented towards the camera, sort of "diagonale"-like (I tried to show that with red dots pattern on the sides of her shirt). But this position actually might result in misinterpreting her as being a little fat compared to her original "very thin" self, because those not realizing that her stomach is more oriented towards the camera - thinking the whole body is in total side view - see her waist being larger than her upper torso with her chest, so...
TRUNKS:
- Setting at the Tenkaichi Budokai.
- His outfit is based on his normal outfit, only with slightly longer sleeves to make it more like regular clothes.
- Under-clothes appear mimicking his father's suit.
- Hair, instead of going down on the forehead, are a bit shorter and thrown backwards (I don't think you would see many boys with Trunks' original "bowl" hairstyle in reality these days).
Hum... I wish it was a shadow on his face, but it actually looks like dirt or something. At least, it gives an insight into his temper, kinda looking for mud. Or maybe he's been playing with Goten on the way. Well, after all, it's an artwork for Dende's sake, it doesn't have to make sense, does it?
@ keikuro: awesome, very stylish!
@ elyas: never saw that kind of "potato" art before, it's simple but effective!
