Just like the Saiyan Saga trailer, I have no interest in this project either. I can deal with the bad animation, because it's not something that is easy to do. And if you wait until you are good at it to start, then you'll never get anything accomplished. My main beef with Absalon is that they've determined to depart from traditional Dragon Ball design and make a lot of the cast look like they stole their clothes from the Naruto-verse, as well as having the plot be a giant clusterfuck in the same vein as Shin Budokai 2. Judging from their Devaintart account and the first episode, we're Going to be seeing Super Saiyan 5, Super Saiyan 6, Super Saiyan Gold, Super Saiyan White, Super Saiyan with traces of teal, Ultimate stage 2, Fusion into Gogeta and Vegetto, the return of pure Buu, the return of Broli, etc.

Apparently some people just don't have that point inside their head where they think "huh, maybe this is enough, I don't want to take things too far".

It's hard to make good Dragon Ball fan fiction now these days since everything has been done to death. The best thing you can do is take a old idea and add a new spin to it.

I'm surprised at how many people are putting down the animation. It's obviously not perfect, and I'm not a huge fan of the style myself either, but it blows me away that some fans could get together and produce something like this. As others have said, the amount of effort is really impressive.

On the other hand...

That's all I could think about the entire time. It's like someone decided to make Dragon Ball Fan Wiki: The Animation. I'm not sure how I feel about that. It could be hilarious, or it could be horrible. I can't decide yet.

Also, the real world locations make me laugh.

This is completely weird, yet interesting in its own, completely weird way. I feel inclined to keep an eye on it just because of that and the amount of effort that's clearly gone into it.

People enjoy what they are doing even if it turns out bad. Ed Wood love making movies even if they are garbage, but he was happy doing it. I think the same can be said for people who try making fan comics and web series.

Except for the random Saiyans returning and going Super Saiyan, Real world places mixed with the dragonball world, and Dende somehow built when he doesn't fight(really minor gripe) I liked the episode. I hope it ain't OMG Saiyans, SSJ7, Super Saiyan 10 Gogetto, etc. Though looking at this guys DA I really hope he doesn't go with Mystic Second State Gohan when his unlocked potential isn't even a form.

I hope it has Eternal Super Saiyan.

I remember 8 or 9 years ago, there was a AF website that I would always go on just to print out pictures and read the stories on the site. This show brings back memories of this site for some reason. At least this was better then PVG's AF which just used stock footage and was re-edited with MS paint.

I'm actually amazed at how much that can contradict itself.

Anyway, after looking at his DA account, I really think this is taking things way too far. The endless bizarre Saiyan transformations are one thing, but Kaio-ken x10,000?
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I enjoyed it for what it was.
I applaud him for sticking with the project. Animation is difficult work and the results visually are a bit of a mixed bag but I don't think it's anyway near as horrible as some are saying.
The story? Yeah it's not the best so far...but it's still early so we will see where he's going with it.

It was as some others have said quite a refreshing take on the series.

Sure it didn't feel like Dragonball all that much but I don't see anything wrong with a fan putting his own spin on the show he obviously loves, like the rest of us do.
It's nice he's using the Shunsuke Kikuchi score in parts rather than the Funimation dub score.

The opening animation was a nice touch. The action got me quite excited.

I liked what I saw of Gohan so far. Having doubts about his abilities is something that made him relatable in the Manga to me.
I just hope Son Goku doesn't return and completely steal his thunder, although he probably will.

The most positive point for me? While I don't like Pan as a house wife at all thank god she's not dating/married to Trunks. I hate that creepy pairing so much. At least with Uub the age gap isn't so great.

Oh did anyone else think Dende sounded a bit like Liam O'Brien? ;)

I never understand why people would put Trunks and Pan together as well since Trunks is in his early 20's in GT. It would be like me dating someone from the 4th grade  . I also like the banter between Razzle and Zissle which I found to be pretty funny.
