Different licencing is involved for those. JSAT belongs to Jump, PTESS belongs to Bandai. Not sure to whom EOB belongs to. This one belongs to Toei, to which Funimation as been doing bussiness.Saiga wrote:JSAT, PTESS and EOB haven't been dubbed.DNA wrote: It doesn't matter if it's fake or not, he is right. Anyway, thanks for clearing the Makai stuff up Herms.

Sorry if Latin Americans are making fake posters. We are crazy for DBZ. Really. Crazy.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Is what I've linked new movie-tie-in figure pictures? They look a little bit different than the previous sculpts, plus they've revealed ones for Birusu and Uisu.
EDIT: It won't let me directly post the images; guess they need to be rehosted?
You can see them at the first link in the sources below. Vegeta looks a little less crazed, a little more "oh the terrible things I'll do to you, Kakarrotto..." the ssj3 Goku still looks kinda weird, and Pilaf's figure actually looks kinda cute now.

That would be really cool. *_*
I kinda want a movie-exclusive power-up for Goku (even if its not a physical transformation, just an outfit would be nice) but I know that if they're trying to tie this in to the manga, it probably won't be that.
I would place my bets on Gogeta, actually. Even if he's never appeared in the manga before, I feel like he has a better chance of being an option than movie-exclusive power-up does.

We do not accept propaganda from gods with power levels less than 2000, nor those who are supernatural, as they're like imaginary friends.

Something along those lines.

Between the GO symbol missing, Vegeta wearing the Buu arc outfit instead of his Cell arc outfit like the rest of the promotions have him wearing, and Pilaf being green I'm not sure what's intentional and what's a mistake.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
Pilaf being green and Mai/Shu being young again might hint at something. Mai should be quite old at this time.

Been reading the previous pages and I have to say,"whoa."
I don't get the mentality of why canon is such an issue. I mean, who cares? Honestly, what harm would it be for GT to be canon to the manga? Is it going to destroy Dragon Ball? Going to effect the series one bit and makes people's head explodes because of the sole reason the movies ties Manga and GT together, or because of Ssj Gohan in the film, makes it suddenly "not canon" or in some cases "Doesn't exist"?
Maybe it just me, because I'd just simply don't understand.
Also, if one can accept a bunch of kids, that were remodeled to be stronger than the likes of Frieza, should also accept that Rilld, whom was upgraded with aliens technology to be stronger than Buu (whichever). Same goes to Blis, the suppose God of Destruction as the film describes him to be.
Also, considering this film takes place after the events of Boo but before Oob, shouldn't Pilaf and the gang be old as raisins by now?

Regarding the original DB and GT, it probably comes down to this (just IMO):Shineman wrote: I don't get the mentality of why canon is such an issue. I mean, who cares? DB - awesome.
GT - nonsense.
How? How can DB be this good and GT suck so much?.. Hey, it appears it's not the original DB author who made GT! That explains everything. *Tosses GT out of any possible relation to DB*.
Then there's DBO, which "replaces" GT and actually has Toriyama involved. Why would one go with Toei when there's Toriyama?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
I don't know how many times I have to say it, but Freeza and Boo are worlds apart. So I don't see how it's so logical for both of the to be surpassed with similar reasoning just because the weaker of the two was.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
Exactly. But Toei Animation still made GT. You could compare something like Zelda. Miyamoto was the original creator but has not created every single game in the series, yet those games are still produced by Nintendo.

I'm not sure if this has already been discussed but with the movie coming out in March in Japanese cinemas, does anyone know when the movie will likely be released on DVD approximately?
If it's months and months down the line after that, is it likely we won't be able to watch the movie for quite some time after and would be relying on a bootleg or something? Also I think it would take at least a year before it is released in America.

GT is impossible to be canon to the manga given that villains don't keep their bodies in Hell and the Plantian are likely the true race of Planet Plant then the Tsufuru-jin. I think saying GT is canon to the manga is like saying the AVP movies are canon to the Alien films. I'm surprise people care about GT so much now when everyone pretty much hated in the past 15 years. Anyone one remember when fans would be like "We can forget GT exist now since it's sucks so bad". It's the Batman & Robin of the Dragon Ball franchise if you ask me.

It could be anywhere from 6 to 8 months for a DVD release.BlackCatScott wrote:I'm not sure if this has already been discussed but with the movie coming out in March in Japanese cinemas, does anyone know when the movie will likely be released on DVD approximately?

Toei's Precure movies typically come out on DVD 6 months after their theater release.
Strong World came out in theaters in December 2009 and on DVD in late August of 2010, so that's 8, almost 9 months.
For DB, I'd say somewhere in-between.
