No way, he didn't end the preview with "Não percam o próximo episódio porque nós também não!"

It all ends tomorrow with episode 98 (well, at least until the Boo arc, if SIC Radical ever buys it; it's more likely than us actually getting a dub. :P)
To what extent is their a demand for a Portuguese dub of Kai? I've heard of people saying that they're so glad it's a sub-only airing, and I've heard other people saying that there are tons of fans who want to see the cast of the Portuguese dubs of DB/DBZ/DBGT return.
I've read that there are a bunch of people who won't watch Kai unless it is dubbed.
Of course everyone who grew up with our cheesy old dub wants the same voice actors to dub Kai.
As for people who are glad of the sub-only airing, that's mainly dbboxkaifan xD

People still remember that mediocre dumbed down dub? Thy sure loved it.

DBZ doesn't air any more on SR does it? Great, the PT dub is finally killed off of for good.

Just stick to the original Japanese audio with the dub/subtitles, which is the best you guys will ever get since the majority of the Portuguese dubs are horrific. The only quality dubs I remember were from many years ago.

D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers was revived on DVD (which has a top notch dub) but the audio quality is worse than on the VHS rips found laying on the internet.

We grew up with it man, what do you want? Yeah, it's cheesy and dumb, but it's still awesome for most of the people born in the 80s and 90s that watched the show as kids. Even people born in the last decade like it. And the dub isn't dead, it's still running in SIC K.

I recall Samurai 7 having a pretty good dub too, though I haven't watched the whole series.

Do you really hate our Dub that much to the point of calling it "mediocre dumbed down"? People grew up with it and they loved it, hence why It's still airing on Sic K, hence why the movies are released in DvDs now and then, and It's why you got many fans supporting it, for us, It was almost perfect, now that we're older we can see some flaws in it but still enjoy it, if not just for the gags.

I've been watching DbKai in my lunch time at my school bar, since they have a tv with a remote and the hour we lunch is pretty much when they are repeating some episodes, and I have to say, gathering a lot of people to watch and enjoying it is a great feeling guys, some of them think it's childish watching a "weird cartoon" being 15 but they still stick around to make some coments about what's going on.

Also about Portugal having bad dubs, It's pretty much a recent thing thanks to the fact that there only seems to be one studio (Dialectus) that has been dubbing cartoons and animes, the new Dub of Pokémon is somewhat decent and the dubs for some games and Disney animated filmes are actually good too.

So the Dragon Ball films are released on DVD every now and then?

Okay, let me check FNAC.PT, hm... Oh it's all out of stock.

Now Worten, perhaps they have it in stock, ah they don't, only three video games.

Looks like it's OoS for good. Not really surprised, it's sometimes easier to find the films on websites such as custojusto/olx or some other Portuguese Amazon/eBay wannabe. But the prices won't be cheap, that much I remember.

I like the sub-only airing too. Dear Lord the old dub was bad.

The fact that people still want them to dub it in the exact same way makes me cringe. And yet at the same time I don't know if I could watch an accurate dub with a completely different cast either, because I can't bring myself to accept a different Portuguese cast. So I'd rather they just keep it subtitled.

P.S. To dbboxkaifan: the Digimon Savers dub, done last year, is pretty damn good (though the opening and ending songs leave much to be desired).

People want the same voice actors, not exactly the same gag dubbing (some do though).
And I think if they ever dub it, they could please both the people that loved the "gagness" of our dub and the more hardcore fans that want something serious. Just keep the "pearls" (pérolas) to the fighting scenes as grunting. The DBKai subber did just that during the fight between Super Vegeta and 2nd Form Cell... he managed to slip in some lines that are actually pretty in-character for Vegeta, at least during that arc (some lines with "cara-de-osga", "lagartixa" or even "Toma lá este miminho").

As for the Savers dub, it is a good dub (with some flaws, but that comes from the spanish dub... TioDuroLeomon... argh! :? ) made by PIM PAM PUM (that has dubbed all the Digimon series including the first one - Adventure - but that one only aired once on SIC, the inferior Valentim de Carvalho dub is the one always on TV). To me the best dub by them is Digimon Adventure 02 (the first episodes were a bit meh - after all, I believe it was PIM PAM PUM's first dub -, but it grew to be a great dub eventually, especially post-episode 10).

Agreed on the Digimon dubs, though I have to wonder if the PPP dub of Adventure really exists, or if it's just a rumour.

And if you keep the same voices, some things will be ridiculous irrespective of how seriously they take the script. Just look at Freeza's voice, which is practically a walking gay stereotype, or Piccolo and Cell sounding like they have a SoundBlaster stuck down their throats.

I disagree on Freeza. In my opinion, the 'walking gay stereotype' applies to Ginyu (and other ambiguous voices made by Henrique Feist), but for some reason not to his boss (who was voiced by Ricardo Spínola). I don't know, it sort of fits his personality.
As for Piccolo and Cell, I agree, they'd probably be better without voice filters. I'd keep the Cell Games Piccolo voice (Vitor Rocha's) just not to have his voice too close to João Loy's Vegeta. As for Cell, we'd need something new, as his voice actor (And Kaio's, and the Narrator's, and Gero's, and Dodoria's, and Kami's, and I could keep going on... xD), António Semedo, has passed away.

Wasn't he the old guy who screwed up the Portuguese DBZ and whatnot by adding useless dialogue that weren't there originally?

If the Portuguese dub had been based off of the Brazilian, it'd been right there up with the PT-BR and Latin Spanish dubs which are the best DBZ dubs ever made.

Today in Dragon Ball Kai *episode 98, the final freaking episode*, SIC Radical finally left the ending theme in. After 98 episodes. Admittedly I'm not Kokoro no Hane's biggest fan but still... thank you for giving us the full package for once.

Yeah, and we never got Yeah! Break! Care! Break! (that I find way better than the 2nd ending honestly).
In other news, in this last episode, the subber did slip in the old Yellow Pages joke from the Z dub when Kaio-sama is "looking for" someone to build his house.

He was the director of the dub and the one who gave the voice actors free reign to add all the jokes they wanted. The dialogue changes (other than these jokes) weren't really his fault though, the french are guilty of most of the changes.

Indeed :(

Oh well, at least we got this now. Better than not having any ED ever. I still wonder why they cut the ED out of every episode, when they didn't do it for other shows like Death Note...

We actually did get it once, as well. In that one particular episode, they played the next episode preview THEN the ending played out of nowhere and then the next episode preview again. It was weird. At least each opening played once lol.

Really? Missed that one (I only started really watching when the subber changed and I think that was already post-Yeah Break!... Wasn't that intererested in the Saiyan/Freeza arc - and I had no time for watching then either - and was too scared by that 'Rei Frio' xD).

Most likely this won't get even a DVD release, so for those that liked it, it would be wise to record it to their ZON/MEO boxes.

Huh, didn't proof read that.

Anyway, since this "Portuguese" Kai is in Japanese what chances are there that this could air on SIC K? They just broadcast anime/cartoons dubbed in Portuguese and Spanish ain't it?

I'd say they're pretty low. Naruto only started airing in SIC K after being dubbed, despite the series being subbed up until "mid"-Shippuden (Hidan and Kakuzu) and airing like that in SIC Radical (still, Naruto had been partly dubbed by then, up until the Chuunin Exams).
The only show I think isn't dubbed is that Junior Masterchef cooking show.
I don't see Kai starting to air there unless it gets dubbed. Then again, every show that airs there is dubbed by DIALECTUS (except for DBZ and other older shows) so I'm not sure I want Kai there, unless they gather the old cast again.

I also like the sub-only airing. The portuguese dub is bad.

I call the majority of those people, casual fans. Most of them worship the dub, and they refuse to watch the original version. They give stupid excuses like, Goku is voiced by a woman, etc... But other people only watch it, due to the "gagness" of our dub.

Wolverine is rearing again. Probably they will only repeat Kai in 2013.
