Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

If they explain why Kaio's planet is back, cool. If they don't, it's a plot hole. Too early to tell.

Just because something isnt explained doesnt mean its a plot hole. Kaio Sama could have easily gotten a master of materialization to do it *cough* Kibito Kaioshin *cough*. Heck its been a couple years for all we know Goku used the dragon to give Kaio Sama's planet back after complaining so much. Then there is the fact that all the Kaio planets look the same based on the Other World filler arc so it could just be another Kaio's planet.

If it contradicts something established previously, that's exactly what it means. If we never see it being restored, we're never told it's restored, and yet it's just there with no explanation, that's a plot hole. Even if you can come up with fan theories for it.

Can we go back to arguing about Gohan's hair? I mean, that is dumb, but there's at least a semblance of plot muddling depending on your interpretation of the Ultimate power-up. Kaio's planet is nothing.

An inconsistency is an inconsistency regardless of it's relevance to the plot.

And I'd say that the destruction of Kaio's planet was relevant to the plot anyway, as would undoing that without explanation.

Maybe you think it's a plot hole but it really has no impact on anything since can be easily explained... Kaio is the Lord of Worlds. I'm sure someone of his stature could pull some strings and get a new planet created for him easily. Or as it's been theorized here...one on the numerous characters in the show that can create matter out of nothing.

Now Gohan ascending to a new transformation and level of power courtesy of the Old Kaioshin, just to be reverted BACK to his obsolete Super Saiyan form....

FUNimation likely won't get those sort of things, but the domestic Blu-ray might get something neat. Certainly they'll put out extras worthy of the hundred dollar price point.

What would you consider to be the most controversial plot hole? I dont know many.

Guys, guys. A plothole can be both something illogical that contradicts previous facts/explanations OR a lack of information about a plot detail that has been changed.
It is mostly subjective, some plotholes will be recognized as such by most fans while other will be more debatable.

If not explained, Kaio's planet reappearing can potentially be considered a plothole. A hole you can fill with various theories, but still a hole in the plot where instead there should have been a place labelled "the explanation as to why Kaio's planet is back", making the link between plot detail Planet exploded and plot detail Planet is back. A hole between plot point A and plot point B, a hole in the plot, a plothole.

So that depends on your perspective, but yes, a character leaving a house that explodes at the beginning of an episode and coming back at the end of the episode in an intact house as if nothing happened, will startle some fans as being a plothole, while others might say "yes, but we can imagine that it was just a dream / he was just imagining what it would be like if it exploded / it was just a metaphor or vision / someone rebuilt it / it's another identical house / a fairy happened to pass by", etc....

I honestly can't think of a major one. The thing is, a lot of the plot holes in the series have had fans make up their explanations for them. It's what plenty of fans do.
