Will you be buying the DVD/Blu-ray of Kai's Boo saga?
I only got parts 1 & 2 on Blu-ray and 3 & 4 on DVD. After the Yamamoto scandal, I just didn't feel like buying the rest without the score for Yamamoto. so I guess I kinda lost interest in it. I have an unofficial release of Kai with the rest of the episodes and the Yamamoto score, because we will probably never get another release with that score. but I will definitely be buying the Boo saga of Kai when it comes to the US. Will you folks be getting it? Do you have reasons why you're not?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I feel that, Yamamoto or not, Kai is a nice cut of the series that (in my opinion) needed to be done. It'll be real good if I ever want to show people the series. I think it's also essential for the redone English dub, which I probably won't watch, but I might have other people watch it if they really don't want to see it in Japanese. So..... Yes. I'd also not leave my collection uncompleted (I have the Season Blu-rays, by the way)
Re: Will you be buying the DVD/Blu-ray of Kai's Boo saga?
I will be buying it on Blu-ray, but I will be disappointed if they don't continue the "Parts" series (I have Parts 1-8, but none of the "Season" sets).
Re: Will you be buying the DVD/Blu-ray of Kai's Boo saga?
Most definitely. I prefer to watch anime in English so I'm free to multitask if I want, so a Kai-ified Boo arc is a must for me.

Re: Will you be buying the DVD/Blu-ray of Kai's Boo saga?
Definitely, though more for the new dub rather than anything else. Back when Kai was first announced as being licensed, I really had no plans to pick it up, at all. Ever. I saw no point in it, I'd just spent the last couple of years buying DBZ and GT, and...I think I'd gotten all of DB at that point too (all five Season Sets were out before we got Kai, right?). So I was thinking, other than getting around to the manga eventually, that I was DONE buying Dragon Ball for a while.
Then that nice new dub was announced...with it's more accurate take and better acting and all that jazz...even for someone like me who still loves the original dub for what it is, this peaked my interest enough that I had to buy that first set to check it out before the show aired. And I was sucked in yet again, bah. BAH.
So yeah, I'll pick them up. I need to get Parts 7 and 8 first though. I've honestly just been waiting for a full Season Four set to be announced though.

Well, I don't have all the other volumes of the show (I have a couple, from around the fight with Freeza, which really needed Kai), and it's not a high priority, but sure, I'll buy some, if just to support the efforts of making a better English dub for that material. Plus, the Buu arc is in pretty dire need of trimming.

Maybe. It all depends on its PQ/AQ/MP.
If they don't continue the Parts collection then name it something different than "Seasons" I just don't like it.

I've always hated Funimation's obsession with "seasons". It's like they don't know how TV seasons work and how irrelevant that is to anime most of the time.
DBZ doesn't have any damn "seasons" to begin with. Even the dub only had maybe six, and yet they say there are nine.

I can guess the first two easily enough, but I cannot at all tell what "MP" stands for. Motion Picture? Media Price? Magic Power?loldbboxkaifan wrote:PQ/AQ/MP.
I've even seen Kamehameha abbreviated as "KHH" lately (which I've never, ever once seen since in my time on the internet began in '98). I really hate internet acronyms, and how prevalent they're becoming. It always confuses me, and only save a slight amount of time./rant

It's an instant purchase for me, assuming FUNi actually releases it.

Re: Will you be buying the DVD/Blu-ray of Kai's Boo saga?
Well, I agree with you that being back to the old score is a huge flaw that also made me think twice, but:
1. Even with the old music, it's still worth it for the new dub, fillers being eliminated and overall new presentation. Huge improvements that are absolutely worth it!
2. There is a chance we'll have new music for the Boo saga now that there's no emergency anymore and time to prepare. If that's the case, you don't even have to hesitate anymore!
As far as I'm concerned, I'll rush to buy it whenever it's released!

MP and the music in general used. Takaki's score used on Ultimate Blast 30min anime cutscenes could work out with Kai's last part, and it sounds cinematic and modern. No one would complain about it.
Anyway, I still have DBZ Kai BD Parts 5-8, sadly. Wish someone would just buy 'em all on Amazon marketplace because I don't need nor want 'em any more. I regret buying 5-8 Parts.

I wonder how the acting will be? because I remember reading somewhere on here, that some of the voice actors were sick and the acting was kinda ''Meh..'' (English voice actors that is) I'm on episode 70 right now and they seem to be doing a pretty good job. but it's awesome to read all the responses.

I have all blu-ray seasons of Kai. I will preorder and first day own the Buu saga blu-rays if and when they come out. I've been watching DB for years and the Kai dub and cut has been my new favorite way to watch. First of all because of video and audio quality, but also because of the filler-less cut. I will be counting the days/weeks/months till we know more about Buu Kai! ASAP FUNIMATION!
Re: Will you be buying the DVD/Blu-ray of Kai's Boo saga?
I hope the production values are up from good international sales and they are able to put in some re-arranged/remixed versions of the Kuikuchi score or something interesting like that. I'm still very confused as to which is better between the scored versions of the series' run prior (and have not purchased any of the dvd's yet as such).
