Well, according to the movie's site, advance tickets are now available along with those complimentary ill-designed pens that "violate the common sense of Z". (Still liking that translation phrasing, even if the sheen is beginning to wear for me a bit at this point.)

I really do hope Toei marketing-blitzes this movie. I can't help but look at all the neat One Piece Film Z stuff and hope for equally cool BOG tie-ins the closer we get to the release date.

Agreed. A wider release would be nice. I don't mind if it's after the fact either. (I'd wanna see it in Japanese though, so...)

It bums me out that I won't be home to watch any live commentary as the panel unfolds (not that I know if there will be any live commentary or not.). 11:20am~11:50am Saturday Japan time is 9:20pm~9:50pm Friday EST time. I'll be checking my phone for updates the few chances I get; and I've added Kanzenshuu to my phone's RSS feed list.

I like serious, stylish artworks, but I also like this kind of delirious artwork where the characters and villains are precisely taken out of character and acting a bit crazy together!
That's one of the delirious stuff that can happen in manga artworks but certainly not in "regular" TV shows' promotionnal shots!

Then no need for the arrival of the God of Destruction on March 30th! Or maybe... Birus will actually come earlier than we thought, which would explain the end of Earth! (what? It wouldn't be the first time the enemy arrives earlier than expected!)

My guess is that the JSAT special, while great, wasn't seen by most of the general population of Japan.

If you remember, Son Goku and Friends was streamed on the Jump Festa website with an array of foreign subtitles (And of course it's on YouTube). More people have seen it than you'd think.

I've so enjoyed the "breaking news!" days we've had so far. I feel like I'll probably end up on these forums late that night after the panel if there really is a hugely interesting chunk of news coming out of Jump Festa. XD

I think we all want too, but I don't see this movie getting a major worldwide release. I'm hoping next year that Funi will pick up the rights to the movie and release it at Otakon like they did with Eva 1.0.

Here in the UK a new Anime distributor has come about (Tentatively named 'Anime Limited') and one of their aims is to bring more anime into theatres. They apparently have a few things that they're working on at the moment in that regard but I think it'd be cool if they got this movie on the big screen here. Then again, we have Manga UK releasing the season sets so I guess only they have the rights to distribute Dragon Ball material, not to mention the time an money it would take to get the rights in the first place.

Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie was the last anime movie released here in the US that got a major release and it bombed big time. Anime films in the US always end up getting being released in limited theaters or go direct to video. Japan's target audience is much different then the US target audience. Something popular in Japan like Mothra can have a movie that can be a blockbuster, but would bombed in the US. Same with US movies in Japan, The Dark Knight was a huge hit in the US but it did poorly in Japan.
