Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

And it would totally fit within the actually small time-frame between Buu's defeat and the end of DBZ that we have here, given the age of Pan and Bra and all that. And this would be the kind of thing that might interest the new screenwriter to explore, that Toriyama himself never would.

Toriyama was the one who suggested the concept and wrote the plot, so isn't it likely that exploring this specific time frame and the wedding (or whatever party gets confirmed) was probably his idea? That said, that portion of the plot might be handled a bit better with him not penning the actual script, as he admits that he's not good with the romantic situations and stuff (see Goku and Chi Chi's engagement =P).

He's governs destruction in order to maintain balance in the universe. I don't see them finishing him off and disrupting said balance. Whatever they use as a final attack, it probably won't be lethal, instead just putting the Hakaishin in his place, right beneath Goku's boot. =P

I want Goku and "Birusu" to make best buddies with each other in the end, hopefully breaking him out of whatever spell/confusion/influence "Uisu" has him under, if my hope of him being a Makaioshin comes true.

Even if Uisu is a Makaioshin and tricking/bewitching him, most of our info seems to imply that the Kaio(shin) were scared of him long before he woke up for this movie. So, sadly Mike, I think Birusu might just be too much of a dick at heart to join the party like Abo and Kado did. lol Oh the lulz the would ensue if he did though. I can only imagine everyone hanging out and having a good time while he acts like a stick in the mud about his defeat, sitting in the corner pull of "cat pride" and literally licking his wounds. xD

I dunno, that kind of reminds me of what ultimately happens in the JSAT Special.

And it seems to me like he's not under any kind of spell. In the trailer, Uisu asks him, "Are you going to destroy the Earth?", which to me implies that Uisu is either a subordinate, or is keeping things on the low until something happens to Birusu. Maybe he's more powerful than Birusu, but doesn't yet feel any need to get his hands dirty, so he sits back and watches for now.

That's true...maybe he knew that he wanted to cover that portion of the story, or knew people would want to see it, but knew he wasn't good with that kind of thing himself, so thus handed most of that portion at least to the scriptwriter. I hadn't thought of it that way.

Yeah, it amuses me how bad he is with those situations, given his friend Katsura made his 'fortune' writing about that kind of stuff.

If Birusu doesn't join the party at the end, I think that instead of destroying him, they'll end up returning him to whatever slumber he was in before Uisu woke him up (if Uisu did indeed wake him up).

I wonder if that wand/walking stick Uisu carries with him isn't what he's using to influence Birusu.

Vegeta learning Bulma is pregnant at the end of the movie would be fantastic. X3

It would be rather fitting, since it felt like they got the most development as a couple out of all the official pairings too. I mean, a lot of that was anime only, but still.

I want to say there was a moment of her kissing him on the cheek, and maybe an implied, off-screen kiss when he woke up after recovering from the heart virus...but I don't recall ever actually seeing them lock lips.

Yes, actually, I think Chi Chi's kisses are the only ones in the story. Back in the 23rd, the Wedding and, of course, when he is cured from the Heart Virus.

I don't even remember Bulma cheek kissing Yamcha. o_O


A Gohan x Videl kiss would be a cute way to end the movie.

xD I forgot about that one. That damn kiss almost doomed the world. LOL And yes, I think they should kiss... even if its not a passionate one, I would love a simple kiss. Given this is DBZ, it would be huge either way.
