Well, yea. That was one of the main selling points. I'm sure that's why most people bought it. That's why I bought it.ringworm128 wrote:I think the only reason it even sold in the west was because of the new dub.

Or hey, maybe it sold because Goku doesn't dick around on Serpentine Road, Bulma doesn't fight crabs (any more than her sex life affords her), Goku's fight with Freeza isn't 19 episodes long, Garlic Junior doesn't show up, Gohan doesn't meet a girl named Lime, and we don't spend two episodes on Mr. Satan's crew.
The good dub is icing on the cake.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.
Dragon Ball (Z) Kai Reviews!
Can I get a Schemen?
Re: The Season Sets aren't widescreen?
Agreed. Without a new Dub, I would have probably ignored it. I still don't care about the Japanese side because I'm buying the Dragon Boxes (finally ordered DB 6 for Christmas). The series needed a new dub, and Kai let us have it, so I've fully supported and enjoyed it.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Well, yea. That was one of the main selling points. I can't remember anyone ever complaining about their HDTV having this problem, it's more about broken down / lines / dead pixels / whatever.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:It's because I have a plasma and I don't want Screen burn-in.
Oh well, if you're worried about getting a problem with your Plasma giving it little to no use perhaps would be ideal.
I've never had an issue and nor about burn screen when watching 4x3 Blu-rays (Pinocchio, TLK, YYH, DBK, etc). If the black bars annoyed me I'd just zoom in the picture, problem solved.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

It's why I bought it. That and the fact that so far I've only had to by 3 season sets and I have most of the series. It's kind of nice.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Well, yea.
