Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

Dark elements and martial arts ala Dead Zone would be amazing. "The Dead Zone" is one of my favorites, so seeing stuff like that would be really interesting to me.

The guy behind the movies lost his touch after DBZ movies 1-3. And it wasn't a sudden change either; Movie 3 wasn't as good and well-directed as 1 & 2.

Nishio Daisuke only directed the first three and sixth Dragon Ball Z movies. The incomplete and rushed animation on movies #3 and #6 are pretty indicative that there were production issues going on.

The Dead Zone was just a magical movie for me. I don't know how you folks feel about the Ocean dub, but those first three movies were gems in my opinion. that's the only way I can watch those first 3 movies is with the Ocean dub. I'm hoping this new movie will capture the magic that is Dragonball also, what Ending theme would guys like to see? I want something very nostalgic like ''Orange Star Hero''

Pretty sure the ending theme is gonna end up being just CHA-LA. In terms of the actual credits montage, I'd be content with them simply reanimating significant events from the series.

So, I heard the song. I thought it was decent, though there are some aspects that might not go down well with everyone.

I've yet to listen to it, but a new version made by a group like FLOW should has to sound new and different. Their style is quite distinct from Kageyama's, so instead of trying to copy his version, they should make it their own. If you want the same song, there's always the original we all love, and even the 2005 version and various others remixes.
I want to hear a CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA that sounds quite different (even if it retains some aspects of Kageyama's version). And now begins (or as soon as we hear the song) the guessing game of whether we'll like that new version or not.

Well, they're certainly no Kageyama, not even close, but for what it is, it did sound OK. A faster tempo, and overall a more modern rendition of CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA.

Well, that was certainly enjoyable. It's... different, and that's just fine. Can't say I like it more than the original but I think it's pretty good.

Those autotune parts were awful, but as a whole I thought it was pretty decent. Thanks for recording it!

You guys were scaring me with the comments about auto-tune...I was expecting the whole thing to be a pitch-corrected mess, but it's just like 2 seconds of effect.

Yeah, when I hear "Autotune" I think of artists' voices being tuned to hit notes they can't reach themselves. This is just stylistic.

Yeah, it's not so bad. The audio tune parts weren't too jarring, at least not as much as I thought. Overall, pretty cool rendition. Now I think it's about time we see more attention other openings other than Cha-La Head-Cha-La. Perhaps some more love to We gotta Power! or Makafushigi Adventure?

I don't like it. It just doesn't fit with the band's style.

I'm gonna be blunt about it. Most of the modern bands have ruined the anime industry. Field of View was the last band to have sung well for Dragon Ball GT. After that, not so much.
