Really enjoyed the song. I quite like the "double-vocals" effect.
The guitar is sweet, and it's super upbeat. A lot of fun indeed!
I'm very happy with this

As an anime opener it works and I could see the animation play out in my head as I listened. FLOW does a nice job of respecting the original work while still making it their own and keeping it "modern." Is it a musical masterpiece, no, but neither was the original. It's just fun.
This.

FLOW's work on Naruto is good, but I don't think a song such as Cha-La Head Cha-La suits their style very well. If Toei wanted to use FLOW they should have simply made an original song.

Well hey, that's not as bad as I thought it would be!

Given the fact that I only know two songs by the band, I can't say if the cover matches FLOW's usual output. But, the poor use of autotune and lack of anything new (besides modernizing it) make for a pretty mediocre cover.
If you're not here soon... GET ON!

Well, I guess we are gonna have to wait til the movie is released internationally before we judge FLOW's performance for its opening song.

I like FLOW's cover a lot, even more than the original in fact! This might be a controversial opinion but I never did like the original Cha-La-Head-Cha-La very much, have always vastly preferred We Gotta Power. Hopefully FLOW can cover that one for another movie in a couple years.

This is the episode of when Gokuh enrages himself after Freezer talk shit about Kuririn

From what I've gathered from OPZ's opening animation; it's possible we might get an opening animation that's both stylish and representative of the BOG's plot.
I'm so amazingly anxious for another info-dump! Story, screenshots, even soundtrack listings could provide spoilers. Take a look at OPZ's soundtrack track listings; it practically outlines the entire film. I can't wait til BOG's appears. TuT

Having seen some of One Piece Film Z, I'm beginning to fear we shall not be seeing any Oonishi Ryou in Battle of Gods. That opening fight scene couldn't have left Oonishi with enough time to work on Battle of Gods. O.o

I'm still hopeful; I've heard that Toei's the type to work up until the very last minute with their productions. I wouldn't be surprised if BOG's animation isn't completed yet (thus giving him the extra time needed to animate a scene).

One Piece Film Z was finished by
November 5 at the earliest. TV episodes tend to be the ones finished right up through the last second.

I liked FLOW's cover. Like others the mention of autotune got me really worried, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I think they could have gone without it though.

So about 6 weeks before it premiered officially in theaters? If similar movie rules apply to BOG, that would mean the earliest it could be completed and ready to watch is mid-February?
I guess the biggest reason I felt they weren't done working on it yet is the lack of actual fight scenes in the trailer; which is mostly characters powering up and charging off-screen. (Also Kaio-sama's glasses lose their highlights at one point in the trailer and that felt like too much of a goof for them to not come back and fix later before they're officially finished working on it.)

Yeah, I'm hoping for a more cinematic style opening, rather than a typical TV opening
Wow, I've nearly made 100 posts in this thread.

A cinematic opening would be wonderful. I feel like it's only happened a few times with the series before.
Similar situation here. Including this post, the advanced search says I've posted in this thread 157 times so far.
There really isn't anything else that's currently ongoing and DB-related that I'm interested in forum-topic-wise atm. The back-story plot for DBO seems to have near-completely stalled in terms of new updates (Though DBO's AGE 801; so interesting to me) so BOG's my DB thing for now. :3

It's no longer on YouTube, it's now on DailyMotion. I don't think I'm allowed to direct-link to it in this thread though due to Kanzenshuu forum rules.

After watching One Piece Film Z's opening, it would be kind of cool (and different) to see a more theatrical opening like that. It was sort of in the style of sayyy, think like spider-man or something where the characters are drawn in a cool way and as they go to punch or whatever they turn into silhouettes on a colored bg/canvas with the credits all against an instrumental score ending on the film's title. If they did something like that with Chala Head Chala as the end credits theme that'd be pretty cool.
Also, the movie goes on for 12 minutes BEFORE the intro/open sequence. Maybe the whole battle with Goku where he loses is the first 10-12 minutes of the film and then when he loses it switches to the opening.
Also the new chala head chala isn't that bad guyssssss.... the only thing I think they should have done is leave the ending the way it was where it kind of slows down and each chord is drawn out before it's over. It kind of ruins the dynamics of the song a bit.

I have listened to the new Cha La Head Cha La by FLOW, and honestly: I really like it.
Sure, the auto tune doesn't really fit, but I really enjoyed the instrumentation, the vocals, and how they changed up the arrangement, and made their own distinct version.
I actually feel that if Dragon Ball Z was made now, this could have been the theme song. They certainly wouldn't get Hironubo Kageyama to do a new theme song for a new anime these days, but I feel that FLOW managed to make a modern day version of the song.
Also known as "GeniDude" and "NerdyNorwegian"!

I wonder if they'll recap the story of DB/DBZ so far at the beginning or in the opening.

I hope not. That would be a waste of screentime :<
