I totally agree, this is not about bitching for new characters, I just suggested to someone who's very close to the project.

Each single character has taken months to be released and is never quite finished. They're always tweaking a few more things.

The next character might be Freeza, but Majin Vegeta and Super Saiyan Goku are first I believe.
Piccolo, Trunks and Gohan are also on the wishlist, as is obviously Cell and Buu. Different versions of these might appear like Zen Buu and Evil Buu, Ultimate Gohan and Cell Games Gohan, etc.

To note is that each character so far has got different intros and outros and many many different pallets, a few of them based on older games. I think the idea might also be to restore, or rather remix, some of the popular older stages. I really like the inclusion of moving sprites. Apparently Yajirobe scatters from rock to rock. The hourglasses and clock in the ROSAT will be moving too.

This shit will take years to do but it's shaping up nicely so far, especially considering that the initial goal was to release Goku only.

I still say that, apart from the obvious main characters and villains, Dabra has the most distinct fight style and move set from everyone else.

These sprites are really nice! I like that there's so many different palette swaps for them too.
On hiatus.

*Frie-za* has been announced. Iced might persuade Balthazar to change the name to Freeza under my suggestion.

True, he must have changed it on the spot. Good, kudos to me.

Also, stages are now on the website as well:

This will be a badass intro piece when he's done with the character:

I still don't like that pudgy frieza.

I can see though that there already is some major improvement. Frieza with such thick legs and tail just doesn't feel like frieza to me.

It's just the style. I don't like Goku's Super Saiyan hair. It's just a different style than what we're used to. It's not meant to be completely faithful, it's just done in a new style. Hairs are huge, heads are round. I too think Freeza looks a bit off, and very feminine (wait until you see the walk animation), but I'm sure it will grow on us with time.

Requested a merger with the past topic for references, notifications for participants, shits and giggles.

New fun animations for Freeza have been released:

And I just noticed what everyone was talking about when mentioning the female Freeza:
Image

As the URL says, it's for Midnight Bliss, a move from Demitri from Darkstalkers which turns the adversary into a female (or "femaler") version of themselves. Fun.

Sup everyone, dropping by some news.

This will be an extremely heavy post, but I wasnt able to find the spoiler tags working so I will put things directly.

The hyperbolic chambers have been released by the talented Daeron, a great spriter that is helping us out.

Bound to sudden bouts of extreme cold and extreme heat, the classic time chamber awaits all fighters.

Strewn about with the mess left over by the last people training, the Aurora Time chamber is ready to receive its trainees.

HE is coming:

Goku uses a hyper cancel system that is coupled with teleporting, he can cancel some moves and most basics at the cost of energy, and when cancelling he teleports out of them into other positions. It requires tons of skill to setup properly, you can for instance teleport out of a uppercut into the ground to then shoot down the opponent. The teleporting cancel has been made such that he cant use it more than X times in a combo string, so it wont be that cheap.

It still looks massively cool.
Here are some of Goku's winposes

Freeza had actually been announced almost half a year ago, when I showed it to you it was when the base was finished. Hence the confusion.
Freeza has his base sprites all ready, but is still in detailing work.

As before I suggest everyone to accompany us on our home forum, where you will be able to get faster news as things develop, Dna will certainly keep posting some news here and there.

And remember if you have any hardship about setting up mugen we got extensive help threads where people will help you out.

Cheers.

Thanks for making me look like a tit you asshat >:C

Since no one says anything, I'll say a few things even though I've said most to Iced already.
Loving the stages, I really like the targets in the ROSAT. Those delicious Shunkanido combos, yum. And those win poses (and the ones coming) keep 'em coming xD

By the way Iced, I'm convincing Lau to do some story panels for a future story mode or something, possibly an intro? I'll bet he'll post here in a minute.

Lol @ robot unicorn! Pretty random stuff. :P

That hyperbolic time chamber is downright gorgeous and so are those animations for ssj2.
Maybe that's why the feet and legs on Frieza still irk me, I'm used to this level of excellence.

This is great! I wonder if i could use these sprites on some stuff of mine. Great work!

Love especially how the sprites seem to have such wonderful animation, the movements seem very well done, detailed and have a nice flow to it.

Keep the updates coming, guys!
