Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
Have you ever wondered how a nice and gentle guy like Goku puts up with Chi Chis constant hostile and demeaning nature? Their married and they eventually gets two children together and i just can't see how it's working out considering their personality differences. Besides, how is she able to fly with the flying nimbus, don't you need a pure heart to be its passenger?
Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
It's almost like ChiChi is the sensible one and Goku is a stupid twat.

Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
ChiChi is as sensible as Author let her be. Goku on the other hand...
Maybe Chi-Chi wasn't the wish fulfilment mother, but everything she did she did for her family (remember, she was created in 80s Japan after all)- and it seems that it didn't harm any of them. How their family worked? They loved each other. ChiChi took responsibility for all daily life matters- I'd say that Goku is here an adult child who fail even as breadwinner and needs her as a guide in life- but it seems that they both enjoy that model.

Yeah, I just never get when people seem to see things in Chichi's behavior that would somehow render her impure enough to ride Kinto'un. Just because she gets irritated at the terrible things going on around her?

Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
Goku X Bulma or Goku X Annin for me, Chichi is terrible... I hope her character dies in God vs God.
I always wanted Goku to end up with Bulma, it seems to me Future Bulma regrets not pulling him over to her side from the way she talks about him. Chichi is an overdramatic lunatic wannabe homemaker.
Bulma is more level-headed, smart, HOT, and rich; who wouldn't wanna get with her?
Annin is strong, ageless, and always pretty, a little ill-tempered, but nothing like Chichi.
Goku thought Chichi was some sort of food; he got the short stick. Goku also knows Chichi is ugly, which is why he can only pawn-off Bulma and Videl to Elder Kai.

Didn't Goku took her on Nimbus when they married? It was Bulma who had problems.

Goku is "pure" because he's too simple to be otherwise. Chi-Chi is actually a good person, even if she gets hysterical with worry over her son. Given her likewise sheltered upbringing, she's probably not keen on the outside world. She relaxes a bit later on.

She's alive at the end of the series, which takes place after this movie, so that's not going to happen in any sort of permanent way.Goku X Bulma or Goku X Annin for me, Chichi is terrible... I hope her character dies in God vs God.
Unless, of course, you're just saying you want to see her die because it will bring you some personal satisfaction.

I've always had an impression that she based Gohan's upbringing on the advices written in magazines. Since she didn't remember her own mother, she tried to live up to something that anyone with normal parents would say as unreachable ideal.penguintruth wrote:Goku is "pure" because he's too simple to be otherwise. Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
Goku never really cared about her in the first place because:
1) He had no idea what marriage actually was when he originally agreed to marry her.
and...
2) He was off training half the time they were married anyway. And he took off at the end of DBZ to train Oob without taking any consideration to what she had to say about it at all.
If anything, the only reason he keeps her around is because she cooks for him. He does seem to care about her to some degree, but he doesn't seem to have the same level of connection with Chi Chi that he has with Bulma. I've always thought of Goku and Bulma having a better fit anyway because she seems to respect what he does more than Chi Chi ever did, even though she's a spoiled daddy's girl and a complete cunt sometimes.
However, in all honesty, I don't think it makes a difference of if he's married or not. Goku does what he wants to without conscience of consequences anyway.
Funniest part about this is that one of my friends (who didn't know a whole lot about the series) honestly believed that Bulma was Goku's wife wife. They were surprised when I told them that Bulma wasn't.

I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
Well, Bulma needed a man, not an adult child.
Things you mentioned don't mean that he didn't love her- he was just too selfish to ever think about her needs. Sadly, that two don't exclude each other.

Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
I know Chichi isn't a bad person, and that she is doing what's best for her family. However, she is often very mean towards others even though they have done nothing seriously wrong to deserve it. That obviously implies she's not fully pure of heart. You can't tell me you never noticed that?Gaffer Tape wrote:Yeah, I just never get when people seem to see things in Chichi's behavior that would somehow render her impure enough to ride Kinto'un. Those two are even worse than Chichi is. Especially Annin! I could not believe that grandpa Gohan was sticking up for her when she was acting the way she was, ignoring goku and Chichi's request to save the ox king from his burning castle.Gokuden wrote:Goku X Bulma or Goku X Annin for me, Chichi is terrible...

Does Chi-Chi ever fly on Kinto'un in her adulthood?
