Re: Why have the games...
Honestly I think the main reason why we don't get completely new characters added to DB games is because its a lot more difficult to come up with them than most people think. Fans these days are so picky about what they like just about any idea is going to be frowned upon.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

I don't see why it's better than simply having a complete story mode.Insertclevername wrote:If you do it right, it can be great. Just do it for the main protagonists and some of the more important villains.
By splitting it up, you miss chunks of the story that the character wasn't involved with. This is especially noticeable when playing as Goku in Budokai 3, as he was frequently absent for large chunks of the arc. And what do you get out of it that can't be achieved with a complete story mode? Nothing that I can see.

It allows more what if's, I suppose. RPG elements can be integrated better since you can run through the story as one, single character an level him/her up. It's also a nice change of pace.

I think you could get the same what if's with a complete/connected story mode, splitting it doesn't really help that. The RPG elements are true, but I don't think they're enough to justify splitting the story mode. I feel it hinders it more than it helps.Insertclevername wrote:It allows more what if's, I suppose. It can work if it's done right. They can be creative and have something like Appule killing everyone and ends up taking over the whole universe.Saiga wrote: Because some characters would have really crummy story modes... I actually think splitting it into individual characters is one of the worst ways to handle it.
