Can't...say I'm gonna care enough to ever finish it or check out this second one, gah. I'd rather Runaways just do more videos.
I'd prefer Runaways to continue as well.

I saw this fanbased youtube video two times actually. It's a pretty decent short film, professionally edited and made for us fans. I like it

As did I. I heard about this and just kept ignoring it. Thinking it's just some fan-made BS. Well, I was on FB earlier and a longtime friend (Who I met because I asked if he watched Dragon Ball Z. He was wearing a DBZ shirt 13 years ago.) asked me if I saw the Saiyan Saga trailer, I told him no. He started telling me how awesome it was so, I got curious and went to YT to finally check it out.

I was extremely impressed. Maybe not so much with the special effects. The casting and dialogue was amazing. I wouldn't donate them any money or anything, but I am looking forward to the Frieza Saga trailer now.

Funny how we both had the same initial thoughts on this, GYT. Yet, completely different reactions after seeing the trailer.

I'll probably check the Freeza saga one when it comes but I wasn't impressed with the Saiyan one, so in the end I don't care that much for it. You can't make something exactly like the anime when making the live adaptation -- it has to be a bit more realistic. Their Piccolo was really painful to watch (cartoonish) and I can imagine that the Ginyu Force will be worse.

How much would we have to donate to convince them NOT to make another one?

$0. I think even $0 wouldn't stop them. They can just use the $ they didn't use last time.

I wonder how they'll even pull something like that off. When they couldn't even get Piccolo looking good. Plus practically everyone wears saiyan armor at that point.. How much money will they ask for this time?

They'll probably just share the 2 armour's around all the actors and green-screen them all together to save money.

It's gonna be hilarious seeing them try to adapt the Ginyu Force into live action, especially when Recoome and Burter are two of the biggest characters in the entire series.

If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"

If they can learn from a few of their mistakes I'm sure it will at least be slightly better. though I think the best bet would to try and not make it as action packed.

But the point of these projects are to represent the best action packed scenes in live-action.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Wouldn't mind seeing them do this just as long as they don't ask for a shit load of money again. Hell Runaways was done out of the creators own pocket and that turned out pretty decent.

I've seen much better (comic-related) fan films. Some with smaller budgets.

And those didn't ask for money.

I'm going to read this thread from the beginning, and see how it got to this.

Finally done. What a trek.

The thread started off enthusiastically until the photo of Raditz was posted.

Pafupafu made this thread for me. I hope he gets the interview he's after.

How can they pull off the Freeza saga with a small budget? Namek is going to be green screen and I doubt they have the money to pull off to pull that level of CG.

I do wonder if Pafupafu ever got that interview. I'd love to hear/read it.

I've been on set and will be through late-February so I'll try to set something up in early March once I return and can use Skype etc. I haven't forgotten about these fellas.
